US. The Consumer Product Safety Commission(CPSC) issued a recall this morning in which 600,000 Simplicity stalls were made in China. The problem with the crib comes from the drop down side, which, due to its hardware construction, can become detached from its tracks, creating a potentially deadly gap where a baby or toddler could get caught and suffocate.

Simplicity Cribs in News
Reuters alerts consumers that this is the second recall involving Simplicity has been recalled in recent history, with 900,000 Simplicity bottles in both deaths.
2008 crib recalls
The CPSC’s history records tell a chilling story. On 08-05, the agency recalled DBaby Appleseed cribs (sold as Davenport Cribs) manufactured in Vietnam and imported from Baby Appleseed of California. Although no injuries were reported, the CPSC notes the failure to meet the minimum height requirement for the recall.
On the same day, Mother Hubbard in the Closet recalled 1,300 of her stalls for the same reason. Made in Canada, this high end stall retails for over $500.
06-26 saw a recall of 1,200 2nd Nature cribs manufactured by the Stanley Furniture Company to grow upsaws. Manufactured in Slovenia, these cribs are sold for more than $1,100 and, although this price tends to be more than any other, there is still a chance that the baby’s head gets caught between the mattress and the crib itself, leading to suffocation.
Two days before the CPSC recalled 320,000 Taiwan made garden stalls. The problem arose from the papers, which broke out too easily, injuring at least two of the 42 children.
On 06-05 in Consumer Product the Safety Commission recalled 550 Wendy Bellissimo Hills Hidden Collection Cribs< /i> manufactured in China. The space between the spindles could not meet the standards, since the child could be caught between them.
24,000 stalls brought in by Munire Furniture in New Jersey were recalled 02-28. Made in Indonesia, the height requirements are not met.
18 Wendy Bellessimo Hills Hidden Collection Drop-Side Cribs started out in 2008 as a baby crib recall. There was a sea of u200bu200bsolved fuses.
Buyer beware!
Even a cursory glance at this list shows that it doesn’t matter how much money you spent on your stall, where it was manufactured, what it sold for, what shape it is in, and what economic group you are in: it could be your little angel. danger! Fallen faces, lack of compliance with government regulations and substandard material use can be found in any and all cribs, and it is up to the parent to regularly check hardware, swing spindles, and keep a watchful eye on their baby’s crib.
Before you put your little one to sleep today, please check your baby’s crib. It doesn’t matter if you wrap the recall or not, you don’t get the manufacturer’s word. My baby’s crib has a “certified” label; it is to be regretted that the label of simplicity clings to the manger. What more?
