I was looking for a hat for my daughter recently, whose interest in arts and crafts is growing and growing. I happened to stumble across a set by Crayola called the Trace N Draw Projector. I have never heard of this product but of course I had heard of Crayola, and I believe this is a brand name. . I learned that the regular price for this set was $19.99, but it was on sale for $14.99. I didn’t stop to think that maybe the reason he died was because the price was set or he looked like there were about a million of these units available. On the front cover it says “Hours of play for children”. I figured getting a big bargain and throwing it in my cart didn’t give it enough thought. has
Crayola Trace N Draw Projector
The Crayola Trace N Trace Projector is basically a light projector that attaches to a white-board screen. the screen should lie on the desk. The base of the light projector is broken on a white board, and some boards are curved around a semicircle. A round light above a candlestick attached to a low stand. The entire projector is plastic and measures approximately nineteen inches. There is an on/off switch on the front of the projector light that allows children or parents to turn the light on and off. The light switch is round, plastic, and simple enough that children can turn it on and off by themselves. There is already a light bulb ice cream, puppies, kittens, teddy bears, runners, swings, etc. it can also be traced while drawing paper or drawing paper placed on the whiteboard. Added five orbs that give step-by-step instructions on tracking certain objects that require a little more work. Each disk contains seven different designs. To move from one design to another, simply push the disc onto the next slide while it is still in the projector’s light. Changing the disk image (although that method can also be used) is not necessary. There are two side panels on the base of the light projector. These chambers are open to store all the orbs in.
The white measures about fifteen inches long and twelve inches wide. The entire whiteboard is plastic and extremely light weight. There is a plastic clip on the top of the whiteboard (with the Crayola logo attached to it). This is a clip so that the paper can slide under the clip. This keeps the paper from slipping out of place or moving while the children are engaged in repeating. It is slipped in white and can only be used as a base deduction. To attach the projector light, line up the round buttons on the base of the projector light to the round holes on the bottom of the projector. When they fit, they simply break. The album is very simple. Pencils, crayons, and even water paints can be easily cleaned water and cloth.
Experiences
I’m going to start by saying right away that buying this set was a big mistake. From start to finish, there were only a few redeeming qualities about this set, but the experiences were more aggravating. The first was the church. The stand of the light projector just doesn’t want to stay attached to the base. I don’t understand why this part is weak anyway, when the stanza itself is not moving. Anyways, it took forever just to get the stand right with the base in order to secure it. But if my daughter barely touched it or changed discs, the station would fall from the base of the projector and fall onto the whiteboard. Second, he also didn’t want the whiteboard to stay attached to the base stand. Again, it was almost impossible to completely separate the two so that they could break together. When we finally do, they barely snap together and come apart easily with the slightest movement. It’s very frustrating to have to stop every couple of minutes trying to stop this thing repeating right in the middle of my daughter. After another twenty minutes or so of gathering, it would be another few minutes and it would fall again.
When we finally got it set up to work right, I noticed that each character was a tad bit earthy no matter how many times we tried to adjust the projector. They could easily be made out of pictures, but there was never a time when it was so clear. the light bulb didn’t help much either because it was never bright. Speaking of bulbs, if they blow once (and they will, and very quickly at that), it is hardly possible to change the bulbs to another one. The tiny screws are just put into the head of the light projector so it takes a miracle to get them twisted. The set comes with an extra light bulb, but not much confidence since our first bulb blew out within two days of first use.
Although I have mentioned the reasons why this is not an ideal product, there are also a few good points. My daughter really had a wonderful time leading under the light as long as she was standing and not falling on it. The little discs are very cute characters and objects that appeal to children. It made my daughter happy and she was happy while it lasted.

Ummm…no. I would never recommend this product to anyone. Even though I got a sale, it wasn’t even enough for the trip. Even the discs (which are adorable) can’t even be used for anything else because they’re too small for viewMaster. This product is specially designed for the customer. I also worry about security. It didn’t happen to us, but a light projector can easily be a small one in the head while dragging if it happens to be dropped (as it is known in our state). The whiteboard itself is pretty much useless because the clip is so useless that any impression of the paper is completely off. This product is too expensive. It’s a wonderful concept and my daughter enjoyed the little time she worked on it, but it’s not worth all the hassle that comes with it.
One last thing I feel I should mention is the age group of this product. Crayola says this product is ideal for ages three and up but I disagree. Children Special needs need adult support, at least in our experience. Although the light switch is easy to turn and retract, the discs are difficult for children to turn and it is impossible for children of about three to five years to attach the parts back together. Even if the lead track seems to fit within the age limits, everything else doesn’t.
