What is “Craig’s List”?
Craig’s List is a free community-based directory of classifieds and forums. For many, it is a blessing.
Two and a half years ago, I decided to try Craig List to sell used children’s toys. Ebay didn’t enjoy it, nor did the money in local newspaper in my I didn’t have it. A former neighbor had told me all about the site and how people can help from jobs, to buying or selling things like clothes, cars, and even houses! So I decided to try it.
The first thing I ever sold off Craig’s List was a pair of diaper genie and a few old VHS movies. After posting pictures and descriptions of the items I had for sale, I was able to share them with those who are interested; and rather than taking everything and stuffing it in a box to ship through the office, buyers will collect their goods.
A little more time we bought other things, like a few CDs, a puppy, and other miscellaneous things. When we decided to move into a bigger house, I put our old house on the site, ask for a price, and take pictures. Although not on Craig’s list selling my house, my neighbor had better luck and I did.
I am a stay at home mom and jumped at the chance to find a temporary job, part time job. When I started using Craig’s List in Denver, I had three different types of tests, all within my home environment! I still continue to use Craig’s catalog and successfully hids toys and clothes, sports jerseys, my old washer and dryer, helped sell his mother’s neighbor’s Buick, which was sold within the first week. Sometimes it can be a bit time consuming, but it is definitely a site that I would recommend to anyone as a last resort for a trip to the Salvation Army, or to a charity.
However, are there pros and cons when using Craig’s writer? Unfortunately, there are people who use this because they don’t have common sense, which can end up ugly in the end. You’ll be surprised how fast other people sell their items.
I’m glad I found Craig’s list and didn’t always rely on Ebay or Amazon. Many people who have never heard of the site wonder what it is and how it started. This special place has been mentioned in the media, and its popularity has grown almost as big, or maybe even bigger, than “My Space”.
