Before Disney made role models for little girls, many princesses had not-so-happily ever after fates. Once they did not understand fairy tales as children dreamed of sweet stories. But many of them were dreams that they were afraid of. Take a look at some of our favorite characters.
Originally from the memoir “Schneewittchen” by the Brothers Grimm, Snow White is a classic tale based on the rule of three that is built upon throughout the story. The evil queen, her stepmother, visits her three times in white snow with seven dwarves’ noses. The queen’s first beauty queens first new strap on snow white corset continues to pull her so tight until she can’t breathe dwarves come and cut it free. The second time the queen gives her a poisoned comb, which renders her immobile, until the dwarfs rescue her again by removing it. hair The queen arrives a little more cautious and insists that the old woman bite the evil one before she wants to. Alas, only one part of the apple is poisoned, and it falls to its fate, still asleep in the snow.
In this story, our princess still finds her happiness when the prince wakes her up with a kiss, but Disney’s evil princess shows no comfort. Rather than rolling fate over a cliff, as Disney likes, the Brothers Grimm tell a story where the princess is actually invited to Snow White and the Prince’s wedding . He has yet to pay for his crimes, when he comes across a pair of iron shoes placed on top of the plums. The evil queen is forced to wear glowing shoes while dancing until she falls dead on the floor.
Rapunzel
In the “tangled” Disney version of Rapunzel, the original story was kept apart from the idea of a beautiful girl kept in a tower with no entrance but a small window . The long hair serves as a tool for the kidnapper to enter the tower until one day, a young man sees the beautiful Rapunzel and the hair climbs up to meet him and finally rescues her. (Although in “Tangled” the young man was trying to escape and Rapunzel had an accident.) However, this is only the smallest part of the story originally told.
In Europe there is a plant called the spiked rampion, and the White Rapunzel. This fairy tale begins when a pregnant woman complains to her husband about lusting after Rapunzel in the garden behind their house. . Unfortunately this belonged to a fairy garden, so that no one ever dared to disturb the plants but for the love of his wife. A certain man dug up a root and brought it home. But again and again his wife wanted his root. He was eventually captured by a nymph and escaped only by promising her a baby when he was born.
The second part of the story is known, the imprisonment of Rapunzel in the tower. What you may not have heard is how the evil market found the prince visiting the tower every day in his absence. Rapunzel complained to her captor one day: “Miss Gothel, tell me why my clothes are all too tight. . No It suits me no more.” The girl conceived twins and, after cut her hair, she cast the nymph into the desert where she later gave birth and tried to raise her children.
The prince returned the next day, cried Rapunzel, and when Caesar’s hair fell into the tower, he quickly ascended only to find himself eagerly waiting. When he was ready, he threw him out of the window and when he fell, he went blind. Although this sounds like a miserable existence for our two lovers, many years later the blind prince stumbles upon Rapunzel recognizing him, and her tears restore his sight.
The mermaid creation of Hans Christian Andersen didn’t take off, despite what Disney would have you believe. She would not become a bride, she would not return to her family, and her act would cost her a miserable life.
Our memory begins in much the same way: The sister queens living in the great kingdom of the sea King, while the heavenly ones are little dreams. When each Sirena 15 turns, it is possible to swim on the surface and see the world for itself. Each of the older sisters quickly return to their lives below the surface, no longer longing for the human world, but the little ones can’t help themselves and after saving the prince from drowning she becomes besieged in a part of her own world.
The witch goes to the sea which informs her that her legs may indeed be granted, but she suggests a much bigger one than the Disney version. Not only will the girl lose her voice at a young age, but the loss will be permanent and she will also suffer immense never-ending pain in her two legs, although she will be the most popular of dancers , and it is lighter than any other type. She will also lose her soul if the prince does not love her and marries another. His heart will break and he will simply be foam on the waves. It will never be allowed to return to the form of a mermaid.
She takes the risk, and the prince finds her on the beach, and soon carries her to his castle, where he dresses her, feeds her, and keeps her by his side. He promises that if he chooses a bride, he will choose her with kindness and mercy in himself. But alas, he discovers the girl he saved from drowning after the mermaid drowned, and he matured as his wedding girl.
The mermaid is given one last chance to live when her sisters cut her hair with the sea witch’s knife and present the knife. to his youngest brother, begging her to plunge a dagger through the prince’s heart before sunrise, so that his legs would become a tail again and he would rehabilitate his family in the ocean. But the girl’s love is too great and she throws herself and the knife into the sea.
She was not, however, transformed into the foam of the sea! For his good heart is rather greeted by the daughters of heaven, who lift it up to heaven with them, and promise him that in time he will gain the same immortal soul that men possess and rise again into the kingdom of heaven. It may not be the happily ever after wedding girls dream about, but it’s still a positive mermaid ending.
