E-speaking Voice Recognition and Speech Software

E speaking voice and speech recognition software was quite a pleasant surprise. In the past I have had problems with the speech recognition software that was included in my operating system and even earlier versions of Dragon and Via Voice which are the most commonly used voice and speech applications for PC users. I was constantly correcting and retraining the software and none of them were ever a perfect fit. The newest version of e-Speaking is much more versatile and user-friendly than even I had hoped. I have had the dragon software on my computer for quite some time but did not use it, recently I went to www.download.com and downloaded the free 30 day trial for e-Speaking.

I have to say that I was impressed with the software and have easy it was to use from the very beginning. The software is compatible with most PCs and installs quickly and easily. Version 3.8 .12 offers a simple yet comprehensive GUI for users to customize their options. Users can program their own list of commands for the applications that they use most often. E-Speaking has taken voice and speech recognition far beyond simple dictation into word processors and now can be used with almost any application on your computer. Users can surf the web, you spread sheet and presentation software, access MySpace and Twitter enabling the user to use voice commands to navigate and to update their profiles on these and other social networking sites.

E-Speaking also reads text from web browsers, PDF documents, e-mail applications, and most of the other commonly used text based computer functions such as dialogue boxes and advertisements. You can finally find out what the small print says on some of those windows and advertisements that use such ploys to mislead consumers. In fact e-Speaking even works with my password management software, allowing me to use voice commands to log into my most oft used sites and accounts. The software provides multiple options for both male and female voices and even the avatar for the graphical user interface. The voices are much more natural sounding than previous generations of text reading voices like Microsoft Sam.

The most attractive feature of the e-Speaking software is the price. In comparison between Dragon Naturally Speaking and e-Speaking feature for feature, and ease or use e-Speaking is more than comparable with its more expensive competitors. I didn’t have any trouble installing, training, or using the software, which I have taken out for a seven day spin before reviewing it. E-Speaking may not necessarily change your life, but it may change how you use your computer, and it may change the way that many people think about more expensive products being better than their cheaper alternatives. The price tag for Dragon is $149.99 or more depending on where you buy it, e-Speaking costs $14 and I must say I am much happier with the performance of e-Speaking than I ever was with Dragon. Two thumbs up to a truly superior software application. So long lizard lips!
