Easy to Make Natural Body Moisturizers for All Skin Types

The skin is the largest organ of the human body and because different areas of the skin are exposed to different elements throughout the day, it requires different types of moisturizers to keep it healthy. There is a wide variety of body moisturizers on the market, and some claim to be made with all natural ingredients. One way you use all natural things is to make them yourself. It can be done with a few medicines that can be bought at health or herbal stores or ordered online.

A good body moisturizer for dry skin is wax, boiled water, coca butter, sesame, coconuts; and oils. The combination of these ingredients works to preserve and protect the skin in natural moisture. Coconut oil is a wonderful skin softener that is high in vitamins, minerals, and saturated fat. Sesame oil is natural, which contains sun protection properties. Calendula and peach leaves are also good for dry skin.

It is best to add almond or peach, rose water, galbanum and rose essential oils to wax and distilled water to the best effect. to create a body of water for normal to oily skin. Galbanum is the juice of the Ferula plant, which is native to parts of Europe, Africa, and Asia. When applied to the skin, it relieves irritation and helps regenerate the skin. Rose-oil helps fight wrinkles and broken hair, and is especially beneficial for dry hands. Other natural ingredients that can be used for skin oil are chamomile, pine needles, and aloe.

A cooling moisturizer made with witch hazel is good for normal to dry skin. Sage corn, wheat germ oil, and essential oil of lemon wax and distilled water. Witch hazel has cooling and cleansing properties that make it a popular ingredient in after shave lotions and skin toners. Wheat germ oil is full of antioxidant vitamin E. Lemon oil adds a cool scent to the aromatic mixture. This is excellent to use during the summer months.

Two tablespoons of beeswax is a welcome addition to the body moisturizer above. Use no more than two grams of distilled water. These are usually melted in a pan over low heat. The oil ingredients vary in proportions and are added to the melted mixture before it cools to room temperature. Essential oils are added drops, since these are very strong and can burn the skin.

It is best not to use oils made from animal fat or petroleum based as these oils cannot be absorbed and clog the pores. Home made body moisturizers can be kept for three to five months.
