Wood crafts There are various ideas for making wood signs. To make these skills easy, you simply need these supplies:

exterior paint
Acrylic paints

Until the top coat

Optional work:

How to make a wooden garden signs:

STEP 1 – Sand the forest so that it is light. Wipe with a damp cloth.

STEP 2 – Paint the entire sign with an outer coat (the color of your choice). Allow to dry completely.

STEP 3 – Decorate your sign with acrylic paint. Some arts ideas are very simple, and this is one of them. Paint a design of your choice, or simply type in a phrase, word, address, family name, etc. If you are making garden signs, write the name of the crop or the flower you are growing and draw a small picture to go with it.

** If you are short on time, you can also purchase unfinished wooden signs from the crafts store. Then you will only need to decorate the sign of your heart.

Choose how to display your new wood art:

Once your wooden garden signs are dry, painted and decorated, you can choose how you would like to display them in the garden. You have two options here. You can hang them, or make a stake in the ground.

Stake – If you would like to have a standing sign in the yard, you can add a stake to the back of your sign. To do this, squeeze the stick of glue generously on the back of the sign and press the thick dowel rod firmly against it. (Don’t forget to paint the dowel rod first) Then use a drill to hold the two screws in place to the dowel rod. Using a dowel stick instead of another piece of wood makes it easier to push the sign into the ground.

Hanging – If you would like to have wooden garden signs that can be hung, simply use a drill to screw two screws into the opposite side of the sign. Drill each screw roughly “on each side of the sign. Then, wrap the wire around each screw so that the sign hangs evenly. Cover the wire with raffia.

Protect the new art of wood:

Once your sign is completely painted, decorated, and assembled, you’ll want to apply a protective coat of acrylic spray. I recommend Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Spray Gloss because it works great on wood projects. After applying the first coat wait for it to dry and then give it another coat.
