Potbellied pigs have been domesticated for more than ten years. Most of them are black and wrinkled with sunken faces and small ears. Adults grow to about 200 pounds. Some potbelly pigs have white markings, less wrinkled faces and longer noses. The difference is in the seed of the pig.

Check the zoning laws in your city to make sure you can have a healthy pig in your neighborhood. Some city ordinances prohibit the keeping of pigs within city limits, potbelly or otherwise. Pigs are of great concern to some; that you may be one of them. Find a reputable breeder and talk to him more about the pigs before the purchase is made.
