Use this faux marble paint treatment to create realistic looking marble walls in your home on a budget. This faux marble wall paint artwork looks awesome in the front hall for a precious look.
Marble walls are an expensive luxury that most people just can’t afford. If you have an existing wall though, you can easily paint your faux marble wall that will fool everyone who sees them.
With a little paint and some elbow grease you can very easily paint your faux marble artwork on your walls.
This plan will cost you about $150. You should finish your faux marble walls in one weekend, but spend a lot of extra days applying coats of polyurethane to protect your work.
For Faux Painting your walls will require Marble:

latex paint, egg gloss: (base coat: Antique White); three or four marble colors (Tatimi Tan, Jute Brown, Coyote Trail 1224, Leather bound) – These paint colors form Sherwin Williams

Start by priming the entire wall by rolling it in a coat of a high quality Aqua base primer. Use a smooth paint roller. This latex base will be primarily smelly, so open your windows if possible.
Once here the primary dry wall will look around to see if your walls need a light sanding. If the surface is smooth, you can proceed to the next step. If you find a rough or muddy area, sand and paint again.
Now take three different small painter’s jars and mix each of the 3 marble colors in one part. water and one part latex shell. This mixture should be thick, but not gooey.
Squirt the Tatimi Tan and Leather mixture onto a small area on the bonded wall, then use a dry cloth to smudge the edges.
Next, add a painting technique vein to draw the Camelback and Jute Brown mixture into a natural flow. dry line with a brush or cheesecloth. Marbles don’t look realistic if you see brush marks, so your glass is dry by sweeping in a crosswise motion. Turn yourself into a different one, and repeat.
To create a three-dimensional marble treatment, you need to refresh the painted surface. Take one of your sponges and dip it lightly. Squeeze out some water. Now, the painted area is rewet. Use your clean dry brush again in a sweeping motion to blend any lines.
Now repeat this process all over your wall. I like to clad my walls in blocks of tile like you would find on real marble walls. Use vertical lines that run four feet from the ceiling to the floor.
If any area of the faux marble paint needs more vein treatment, coil and brush the artist with Antique White paint across. area. If the streak is too wide, use a dry brush to blend carefully, then try again.
Allow the faux marble paint to dry then apply some acrylic sealer or polyurethane coat.
