Finding the Perfect Air Freshener: Glade Vs. Febreze Air Effects Air Freshener

Being a girly girl, I love for my home to have a pleasant smell and often buy products to add different smells to my home. Of course, I like for my home to smell clean and even buy cleaners that have a pleasant smell, but I also purchase air fresheners to add an even more pleasant smell to my home. Throughout the years, I used several different brands of air fresheners. Two of the brands I’ve used the most are Glade and Febreze Air Effects. Both of these products do a great job at adding a wonderful fragrance to my home, but only one of them lasts longer than a few minutes. Anyone using air fresheners to make their home more enjoyable knows that an air freshener that lasts for several hours will be more convenient. While I do have both of these air fresheners in my home, I do prefer one brand over the other.

Glade

There are several things I love about Glade air fresheners. First of all, Glade comes in several different scents. Second, Glade is incredibly cheap. You can sometimes find two bottles of Glade for under $2. When you first spray Glade it smells wonderful. You want to spray your entire home with Glade. Unfortunately, there are also downsides that come with Glade. First of all, when you spray Glade it goes straight up and immediately falls all over you. While the smell of Glade is pleasant, I don’t want to wear it as a perfume. Second, you have to continuously spray Glade. The scent of Glade doesn’t linger longer than 30 minutes to an hour. This means that you will quickly run through a bottle of Glade and have to buy more, so it doesn’t really save you money at all. Also if you keep Glade in the bathroom, I have found that the can quickly rusts. But, I still like Glade because there are so many different scents to choose from. Is Febreze Air Effects any better or does it have similar problems?

Febreze Air Effects

It took a long time before I decided to try Febreze Air Effects. I had been reluctant to try Febreze Air Effects because of the price. I assumed that Febreze Air Effects would be the same as Glade and have the same problems. But, I finally decided to try Febreze Air Effects when I received a decent coupon. After just one use, I fell in love with this product. First of all, Febreze Air Effects is designed differently and the spray actually goes forward, rather than up. This means you aren’t covered in the fragrance after spraying it in a room. Second, the scent of Febreze Air Effects lasts for several hours. I will make the bed and then spray Febreze Air Effects in my bedroom. When I go to bed several hours later, the smell is still there. This means, that you use a lot less of Febreze Air Effects than Glade. Now I’m more than happy to pay $3-4 per bottle of Febreze Air Effects because it lasts several months. Yes, I said months. Unfortunately, Febreze Air Effects doesn’t come in as many scents as Glade does, but it still offers several scents that smell wonderful.

That being said, why do I still have Glade in my cabinet? Truthfully, after buying Febreze Air Effects, I just decided not to waste my time with Glade anymore and forgot it was there. Being able to spray your home down once a day, rather than several times a day makes Febreze Air Effects my air freshener of choice. If you haven’t tried Febreze Air Effects, don’t bother waiting for the coupon, it’s worth retail for sure.
