Need a cheap cab in Las Vegas? Keep in mind that nothing in Las Vegas is really cheap. There are high end and low end rides. You will most likely find cabs waiting outside of the casinos looking for passengers. Beware. While convenient, some of them can be VERY expensive. Always ask the cost of your destination before getting into the cab. Many vacationers opt to call cabs instead of using certain companies in front of the casinos to save money. It is wise, however, if you do call a cab, to call the company at least forty five minutes to an hour in advance before your time of destination change. Why? This is because of the heavy traffic on the strip. Though the casinos might seem right next to each other, it is not as easy as it appears to get swiftly to and from these structures. A cab could be just three casinos away but end up taking a half hour to arrive to pick you up because of traffic congestion and stop lights. Remember, plenty of people are out and about, doing the same things that you are doing on the strip. Heavy rush hours on the strip: 7:50 to about 9:45 A.M. and 4:15 to 6:30 P.M.
Five Inexpensive Cab Companies in Las Vegas
Here are five of the most inexpensive cab companies in Las Vegas that provide reliable 24 hour service to their customers. These cab companies charge (approximately) $3.30 when the vehicle meter begins at the drop (the drop is the place where you are picked up). Then, it is 25¢ for each eighth of a mile traveled in the cab. All cab services listed here are clean and provide fair service for the money. (Note: at press time, this was the cost. With gas prices rising, it will be likely that prices will also increase. If you have any questions, call the company/companies in advance.) Most cab companies in Las Vegas take cash only and do not accept checks or credit cards. Make sure that you carry cash for transportation costs.

Tipping Your Cab Driver
Make sure that you tip your cab driver and are courteous during the ride. He/she is providing a service for you. With this type of service, tips should be given. Your minimum should be 20% of the final tab. If the service was above average, then by all means, give more if you can.
If for any reason your have a complaint issue with the service provided, be sure to get the license plate number and cab driver’s name before calling the service to register a complaint. Chances are, you will attract what you give, so be kind! You are in Lady Luck’s town – you want her with you, not against you.
