Requirements to Sit for the Georgia CPA Exam

There are a few basic requirements that you must meet in order to qualify to sit for the Georgia CPA Exam. You must have earned at least a Bachelor’s degree with 150 hours of coursework to receive your Georgia CPA certificate. Georgian candidates can sit for the minority exam with honors, or with credits in progress. To meet eligibility requirements, you must sit for 20 semester hours of an upper-level accounting/business course for the exam, and at least 30 semester hours of an upper-level accounting course and 24 semester hours of general business subjects to receive a Georgia CPA certificate. Georgia has age restrictions to become a CPA, requiring its CPA candidates to be at least 18 years old, but not requiring US citizenship or state residency.

Application process

The first step in the application process is to download or request a complete card package. This can be found on the Georgia State Board of Accountancy. Format of the Uniform CPA Exam
