Glenny’s Brown Rice Marshmallow Treat

I just bought Glenny’s Brown Rice Marshmallow Treats as a special treat for myself when I placed a recent order with iHerb.com. I paid .95 cents for a one minute treatment and waited anxiously for him in my queue. When the UPS man came with the box my sweet tooth won me over and I went to open the back box first.

As most vegetarians know, they are now made in swampy areas with gelatin, which comes from animal hooves and bones. Not exactly what you’d ask for in a sweet treat. However, Glenny’s made a treat for Althaea, similar to Rice Crispy Treats without the icky animal stuff.

Apart from the bones, no animal Glenny’s Brown Rice Marshmallow has been treated even with whole brown rice. The rice becomes crispy, just like normal rice crispies, but it’s whole grain. I’m all for turning junk food into healthier junk food. Plus, part of the althaea is made with brown rice syrup instead of the traditional corn syrup.

I really like the taste, but it didn’t fully satisfy my craving for fried rice, at least compared to what I’m used to. It has a marshy taste, but also has a mild brown rice syrup flavor. Althaeus tastes a little less creamy than I’m used too. I was a little disappointed that it didn’t handle the hibiscus at all. With every bite I took a bite and the crisps slid from my mouth. I am not so solid and compact as I am used to fishing. That was a little disappointing, but it was a really good taste that I can wrap my head around something about that event.

I was also a little disappointed that it didn’t have that almost stretchy quality that traditional rice noodles have. I don’t know if it’s because there’s not enough hibiscus or what. I know it’s not because it lacks gelatin because I’ve had gelatin-free treats and I’ve made crispy rice and they’re equal in terms of “protein” quality. Although they are made from corn syrup and not brown rice syrup. Could this be the problem?

I wasn’t too happy about the size. I did not know what had happened before. I know I’m overly concerned with my sweet tooth, but it doesn’t seem to last too long, even with me deliberately taking each slow bite. One less ounce is .85 ounce. I think now .95 cents was too small, especially when I saw local health food. selling on the market for .69 cents.

Glenny Brown Rice Marshmallow Treats are certified vegan, gluten-free and organic. They are made by a company called Glenny Foods. Each bar has 100 calories, 2.5 grams of fat, 35 milligrams of sodium and only 7 grams of sugar.

I really enjoy Glenny’s Brown Rice Marshmallow Treats. I think kids and adults alike. If there’s anything I could change to make it fit better and give more for the price. If the price were right, Glenny Marshmallow treats again, though probably not .95 cents for one. I have also seen them sold in boxes before and I also buy them buy around the house If the price was decent.
