However, when Roots opened, it was an immediate attraction. The modern and elegant interior is suitable for a broad range of attire. Patrons can sit in the main portion of the restaurant and take advantage of the open view by watching the cooks as they prepare the evening entrees. There is also the large “Columbia Room,” a private dining area that can be rented and accommodates 30 people. Also during the summer months you can enjoy a warm evening with delicious food on the patio. Chef Brad Root, who also owns and operates 360 Pizzeria, located just across the parking lot in the same development, opened the restaurant with a mind to provide a dining experience that is a reflection of what the Northwest has to offer. He continually produces a menu that changes with the season, but is always offering a variety of selections made from ingredients found close to home. You can expect to pay $10-$15 for a lunch entrée and in the low to mid $20 range for a dinner entrée, but you can also expect to leave feeling like you got your monies worth. The portions are averaged sized, but every dish is a gourmet masterpiece that is sure to merit return visits.
The bar at Roots is open for Happy Hour Sundays through Saturdays from 4-6PM and Friday and Saturday night from 9-11PM. The Happy Hour menu is just as delicious and gourmet as the dinner and lunch choices. It is notable that no matter what meal you go for and no matter what dish you decide on you will always find a smiling staff eager to enhance your experience with excellent service.
While the food and service is sure to make you plan a return visit, you can also learn to cook some of the tasty menu options at home. During the summer you can sign up for a cooking class on the restaurant’s patio taught by Chef Brad Root himself. Although, I am certain you will find that no dinner at home, or perhaps any other local restaurant, can quite equal the one you find at the actual Roots Restaurant and Bar.
