Fans of Grease can rejoice as the movie has been released again on DVD. This time classic-horror-films”>classic films put on a DVD show called “Rockin’ Rydell Edition . First released in 1978, Grease became a cultural phenomenon capturing fans over the years with its memorable music and timeless stories, gaining a cult-like following that has lasted to this day.
Set in 1950 at Rydell High School, Grease is essentially a coming-of-age story. music and comedy. Audiences are brought back to a time where fast cars and slicked-back hair were the norm. A time when being “cool” was the most important thing you cared about.
The film stars John Travolta as Danny Zuko, the ultra-cool leader of the T-Birds who have experienced the summer, and cast innocent Sandy Olsson (Newton John). As the summer romance ends there, but much to their surprise, they find themselves attending Rydell High School. Sandy discovers that he has met a sweet boy, for he has a reputation for being a tough guy to live up to, and is told that Sandy and Danny find themselves at odds as they try to work together. How can they get back together?
movie musicals is filled with dance numbers that have become synonymous with the movie itself. Songs like “Summer of the Night”, “Anointing the Lightning”, and “School Form Throw-Out” actually have They become more famous than most actors in a movie. The acting isn’t great, but it really doesn’t matter, because whatever short comings the actors may have is clearly overshadowed by music and entertainment. the nonsense of the film.
The presentation of the DVD set is perhaps the best I have ever seen. The box included in the actual leather T-Birds jacket with a snap and working zipper. The logo of the film is beautifully stitched on the front of the jacket as well. This only adds a sense of authenticity that adds a little more to the enjoyment of a beloved movie.
DVD full me-. Perhaps the best feature is that every song in the film is offered in karaoke-style format with the Rydell Sing-Along option. There is also a new audio commentary by the director and choreographer which is really interesting. Eleven scenes were deleted with the interviews sent, although these were given a bit. Several features were added to this set, including “The Moves Behind the Music” and “Thunder Roadsters”, and they rounded out the special features in detail.
Grease is a timeless classic filled with songs and dance numbers . It continues to add new fans even as it approaches its thirtieth anniversary. This magnificent DVD set will only fuel that fire. With many new extras and improved format Grease: Rockin’ Rydell Edition is an absolute must have for any fan.
