Wisconsin is a beautiful state. We have lots of gorgeous lakes and forests throughout the state. We are well known for the Green Bay Packers, our gorgeous Northwoods, and the giant Wisconsin Dells area waterparks. We are also known as beer drinkers and cheeseheads. If you ever get to the wonderful state of Wisconsin, here are some must buy gifts or souvenirs you need to find to take back home with you.
In Wisconsin, we are known for making great cheese. That is how we got nicknamed Cheeseheads. Well from that someone decided to create a foam hat that is shaped and colored like a wedge of cheese with small holes in it. People wear these hats to Packer games and Badgers games all the time. They can be found all over the place in Wisconsin. If you buy one of these then you can be a Cheesehead too.
What else goes with cheese? Cows! We have plenty of those also in Wisconsin. You can find Cow Pie here. A cow pie is a giant round chocolate with caramel and pecans meant to look somewhat like a “cow pie.” They are just giant chocolate covered turtles. They are very good. They come boxed up in a small box and on the front there is a cartoon cow with a fence and Pasteur behind him. It is a great gift idea for anyone. You can also find the cow pies in mini sizes also. To go along with the cow pies you can also buy some cow tails. These are long sticks of soft caramel that are filled with a creamy center. They are really good also.
Udderfingers are pieces of chocolate and fresh butter toffee. These are very good also and are made to resemble the udders of a cow. They are crunchy toffee bars that are covered with rich chocolate and sprinkled with almond pieces.
Cow poop are sunflower seeds that are covered with white and black chocolate. It comes in a small jar with a picture of a cow on it. There are usually about 8 ounces of seeds in the jar. This is another great gift idea!
If you would like seeds to grow you own cow you can buy those also! These are black and white painted small rocks. They have a picture of a cow on them and it says grow your own cow. There are even funny directions on how to use them on the back.
You can turn your refrigerator at home into a cow also. There are black magnets of different shapes and sizes that are meant to resemble the spots on a cow. So when you put them on your white refrigerator it will look like a cow!
You can also get a mug that looks like it is full of beer that they call the Wisconsin beer candle. This is a 13 oz Wisconsin glass that is filled with a jelled candled that is meant to look like beer. After the candle is done burning you can reuse the glass.
You can also buy beer soap around the Madison and Appleton area. They made different varieties of beer soaps made from featured beers from Capitol Brewery of Madison. They have added warm honey fragrance oil to the soap to take away the beer smell and to make it smell good. But the soap is actually made from the hops and grains of microbrewed beer.
To mix beer and sausage, we package some sausages to look like bottles of beer. The package also has a label on it from a certain beer company. The only one I have seen so far is Pabst beer. This is a great gift idea for any beer lover.
For any Green Bay Packer fan you can buy them Green Bay Packer Puddles. These are peanuts that are covered in creamy caramel and milk chocolate. They are a fun gift idea. They are packed in a green and yellow box.
Besides all these items you can also buy some of our cheese and sausage to take home with you. There are many flavors to choose from. Make sure you take some cheese curds back with you also! They are the best. Buy them fresh because they taste a lot better that way.
There is also a huge variety of cheese spreads that you can buy also. They are great on crackers and are awesome to serve at parties. You can freeze them also so you can keep them good for quite awhile until you need to use them. You can also buy cheese logs that are rolled in pecans and beer cheese soup packets! There are so many tasty cheese items that you can find here.
All of these items can be found at stores, grocery stores and gas stations throughout the state of Wisconsin. Or you can look at the airport gift stores also. They have a lot of these items also. They make great gifts and souvenirs from our wonderful state.
