You have given me such a precious gift;
dearer than any other.
First you gave me a daughter;
then you blessed me with his brother.
Our daughter will know what it is
He is supposed to be a real man.
She will know how to handle it
by the way you treat me
She “what do you expect from him”
when he has children of his own;
who is supposed to be the father
provider, man, home.
Our son will know what it is
to be a true man in life.
He sees your actions and follows you.
He will be a strong man; with body and soul.
He will know how to love his wife
and great daddy too.
It will come to him as naturally as a spirit;
all the debts are due to you.
No fear nor fear
about my children who will be
I gave thanks to every man;
he who gave me
Today I say Happy Father’s Day.
This day honors such men.
Thank you for being a dad
and all that you do
I love you
