Haunted Spots in Wisconsin

Do you love the paranormal? Are you into ghost hunting? Do you like to go to spots that are haunted? In Wisconsin there are lots of different places that you can go to that are haunted. Are you brave enough to check them out?

Hillcrest Lodge- Townsend, WI

Dr. Fred is known to roam this area. He was an elderly man who lived on the third floor of the Hillcrest Lodge main building. One night as he was walking on the road in front of the lodge, he was hit by a car. He later died from his injuries. Today he makes his appearance at the lodge be known by slamming doors, moving objects, and opening locked windows.

Old Baraboo Inn – Baraboo, WI

In the early 1900’s a prostitutes named Mary bled to death in the building. She still lets the people of the Inn know she is there by throwing dishes across the room, flying brooms, playing music loudly, and slamming doors.

Hilbert Road – Hilbert, WI

Legend has it that a man’s daughter was killed on this road back in the 1920’s. Still to this day he is seen walking through the area carrying a lantern, attempting to stop vehicles to ask them if they have seen his daughter. So if you aren’t too scared, take a drive down this road at night!

Secura Insurance Company – Appleton, WI

About 150 years ago before the Secura Building was in that location, there was a pond there. They were installing pipes in the pond to filter water. A little girl that was with her parents on a picnic, fell into the pond and got stuck in one of the pipes and drowned to death. Still to this day you can hear her cries and her parent’s frantic screams.

Northland College – Ashland, WI

In the 1920’s a girl allegedly committed suicide by jumping down a 3 story tall elevator shaft. The girl does not like men at all. Some on the campus theorize that a boyfriend pushed her. She lets her presence be known by turning lights and computers on and off and leaving black hand prints on walls.

7 Bridge Road- Boltonville, WI

A woman who was constantly harassed by kids who would kill her cats still hangs around in this area. Her house somehow caught on fire and she died in the fire. The remains of the house are still here and she can still be seen roaming the property with her cats.

Bong Recreational Park – Burlington, WI

A lot of people have witnessed a lot of paranormal activity here. From manifestations of spirits to strange lights to unidentifiable sounds. There is high paranormal activity in this area.

Green Bay Harbor, Green Bay harbor

The phantom ship Griffin is often seen lurking in the fog off this lakeside community. The Griffin belonged to the famous French explorer, Robert Cavelier de La Salle. On August 7, 1679, La Salle docked the ship on Washington Island in Green Bay Harbor and embarked on a canoe trip down the St. Joseph River to search for a water link to the Mississippi River. His ship headed back to Niagara without him on September 18, 1679 and was never seen again, except as a ghostly outline in the fog.

Elk Lake Dam, Elk Lake, WI

The ghost of a woman named Mary haunts the Elk Lake Dam. People have seen her walking around by the water and on the Dam. Strange noises can also be heard at this place.

Kozy Korner – New Richmond, WI
This restaurant is believed to be haunted by a boy named Carl. He randomly appears in the restaurant as people are eating their meals.

McNeel Middle School- Beloit, WI
In the backroom of the stage where all of the costumes are kept and sometimes students gather to discuss or do homework during free time there is said to be a man who used to live on that spot where McNeel was built who haunts it. The ghost writes in the mirror hanging on the wall and slams the door. There’s a chalkboard in the room on which 666 will be scratched and no one will be able to erase it and then a few days later disappear and then reappear. It’s very quiet back there and there’s always a dark feeling like you’re not supposed to be in there. Ceiling tiles also fall down but only if someone had been standing there just seconds before.

Old County hospital-Marshfield, WI

The building was formerly a part of the Old County Hospital but is now abandoned. Some patients died there and some committed suicide in the building. There is an underground tunnel that leds to the building and takes you out to the other side of the street where another building of the hospital is. People claim to see people’s figures, lights flashing, and screams at this place!
