In central Indiana sits a house whose history is so obscure that it spills over into the present. Today, Anne’s house is considered one of America’s most haunted mansions, a site known for such paranormal activity as shadows being seen, moans and voices being heard, and cold spots being felt. At the root of hauntings is a story as old as America, some believe. This mansion haunted-mansion affectionately called “The House That Reeks of Death” is located in Indianapolis, Indiana.
But why lethi’s house burn? When it was first built in 1858, the Anne House had just twenty-four rooms. This provision seemed to one Alexander Annas and his servants. But Elizabeth Jackson got married when she was 51 year olds and soon found herself in her twenties. -four rooms too crowded with a woman in the house. so he added a horn. Anna was a generous man not only because he built a wing for his new wife in his house, but because Anna’s House was used as a station on the Underground Railroad, which was used to transport slaves from the south to Canada. The basement was filled with new owners of the house and many believe that the souls of the slaves trapped there remain there.
Do the souls of the slaves who died in fires still haunt Anna House today? The room upstairs smells so bad for so many years that the house has begun to be called the house that “roasts of death.” he tried to elude his own, until the mysterious smell disappeared within himself. The smell will go away, unless many houses remain.
