Health Care Themed Party Favor Ideas for Children

Do you have an inspiring doctor or nurse in your home? If so, you may want to consider throwing him or her a health care themed birthday party this year. It helps to know a few health care tips that you may want to consider using. Here they are:

Call Home Bag

To make a bunch of house call bags, you’ll need a case of syringe pens ($9 per dozen), a case of medical themed lanyards ($7 per dozen), a faux medical ID card ($2), a toy stethoscope ($3 each) and a case of surgical gloves ($5). I would also recommend that you pick up a case of see-through bugs ($10 per 10), a case of Candy Red Hots ($7), tongue depressors ($14) and a box of Band-Aids ($5) can represent a few healthcare-inspired gift bags ($7 per dozen). They can be purchased at party or medical supply shops.

Nurses Hats and Doctor Masks

Nurses hats and doctor masks also make health care themed party favors fun. They can usually be purchased through clothing or medical supply stores. As far as nursing hats go, you can choose to make your own from paper or buy ready-made hats. Directions for making paper nurse hats are available online. Prices for ready-to-wear nurse caps and doctor masks vary widely and can range from $3 to $38 a box depending on the manufacturer.

Health Care Coloring Books and Crayons

Another option is to arrange for the safety announcement to hand out coloring books and small boxes of crayons. Based on my experience, you can typically get health care related coloring books from a health promotion company for less than $1 each. Many of the coloring books have titles such as “The Journey to the Doctor’s Office”, “Healthy Body”; “A Visit to the Pharmacy” and “Know Your Emergency First Aid.” In many cases, coloring books can also be personalized with your child’s birthday greeting and name.

Anatomy inspired by candy

Many kids like the fat-looking, candy-like anatomy. With that in mind, why not include a bag of gummy eyes ($18 for a 50-pound box), bone candy ($20 per 5-pound bag), lip wax ($1 each) and gummy guts ($6 per 40-pound box)? There are also white teams that make brain-shaped lollipops and finger gum. Typically, you can buy such odd-looking candy canes all year round.
