HISTORY

According to the “Chihuahua Writer’s Library” by Hilario Harmar, a thousand years before the Spanish conquest in Mexico and Central America dogs were more common in holidays Indic, festivals, and ceremonies. Another common breed in Mexico is the Mexican Hairless Dog, otherwise known as the Xoloitzcuintli. Often confused with the Chihuahua, the Mexican Hairless came from Asia and China during the Chin dynasty. These dogs look nothing like Chihuahuas, but their size and origin lead to common confusion.

The Aztecs used little yellow dogs for funerals. These dogs are probably the origin of purebred Chihuahuas. When someone died, the Aztecs kill a yellow dog and bury the dead. A cotton rope was placed around the dog’s neck, probably as a passport to destruction. At the end of the road through destruction, the deceased was required to cross the river on the back of a yellow dog, which was waiting for him on the other side of the dangerous river. The Aztecs also believed that animals controlled particular parts of the body. Dogs rule by nose. The Chihuahua breed is susceptible to respiratory problems, so today some still believe that the Chihuahua can help with asthma and other respiratory disorders, although this has never been proven.

Late in the 19th Century, Americans began to buy Chihuahuas from the Indians, who got them from the lower Mexican border. The name Chihuahua is derived from the Mexican state where they are believed to have originated. The Techichi, a companion dog of the Toltec civilization, may be the ancestor of the common day Chihuahua.

The Chihuahua has become a popular breed in the United States since the 1970s, continuing to this day. What it lacks in size, the Chihuahua makes up for in spunk. You are often caught as a pit bull in the body of a Chihuahua, and you are so loyal. long days, often one owner’s approach and overprotective. They have terrier qualities.

Small dogs are all the rage with celebrities, and it’s hard to resist a Chihuahua rabbit. In 1990 Taco Bell hired a small yellow Chihuahua named Gidget as their pet dog and became the “Taco Bell Dog” as well popular food other than the toy chains created after it. Gidget died recently but her legacy lives on. Chihuahuas also star in their Hollywood movies like the Beverly Hills Chihuahua.
