The fee abbreviation ID and OD are In District and Out of District. In district means you live in Deschutes County. These programs are offered by the Bend Parks and Recreation Department. You may call 541-389-7275 for more information.
Come Make Your Own Rootbeer for ages 7-12.
Learn how to make rootbeer from scratch. This hand’s on class is taught by instructor Theresa Clow. Children will learn the fundamentals of creating rootbeer, design labels, plus, bottle and cap their very own a six pack of rootbeer to take home.
All materials are provided.
Fee is $16 for in district and $22 for out of district. (In district is Deschutes County)

Pottery Lounge for ages 6-11
The Pottery Lounge is offering after school fun for kids at their new location. Kids will be making and painting their own project with the guidance of friendly and entertaining staff. The girls will be making beautiful pendants and the boys will be making animal figurines.

Art Squared for ages 6-8
The Art Squared is all about Squares. Instructor, Shanda Pickhardt, will assist children in creating their perfect square. Children will experiment art squared through painting, drawing, collage, print and more. This activity will be an engaging experimentation for children as they create their masterpieces.

Paint and Print Explosion for ages 9-12
Paint and Print explosion is about color and imagination. Instructor, Karen Ellis, will be teaching kids about print making through experimentation. This class offers kids an experience with palettes of color while discovering the power of art. As they learn the surprises of tempera, watercolor, and acrylic paint, they will experience the wonderful world of printmaking.

Art Start for ages 2-3 with and Adult
This is group is designed for children and their parents to experience the wonderments of the art world. Designed to nurture artistic and perceptual awareness as children and their parents enjoy painting, working in clay, creating collage masterpieces and so much more.
Themes and projects vary. Children must be accompanied by and adult.

This 2 ½ hour group will discover and experiment imaginative play and art exploration through stories, nature exploration and games. This also includes experimentations in painting, clay, pencil, college, crayon and more. Children will be stimulated in creating their own expressive masterpieces.

Clay Play for ages 4-6
Children will discover the world of clay. Inventing their own expressions in the ceramic studio, children will investigate the qualities of clay with the use of clay tools.
Projects vary each session, learning coil pots, tiles, sculptures and more.

Holiday Clay for ages 16- Adult
Gifts handmade seem more precious to the heart, so this year instead of buying a gift, make it! Learn hand construction methods of slab, pinching, press molds and beginner wheel throwing procedures. This class is perfect for beginners as you self discover the wonderments of clay and learn fundamental skills.
Included in this class are 25lbs bag of clay, glazes, firing, and open studio once a week.

Ice Skating for ages all ages
Have fun this holiday season with Ice Skating. Ice skating has become our family tradition during the holidays. We always have a great time and we really enjoy being together. My husband and I are not pro ice skaters and each year we have to relearn the basics to ice skating. Jerking and falling is all in the fun! After some warm up, we seem to glide better on the ice, but we stay close to that precious wall.
Seventh Mountain Resort has a great ice rink and skate rentals for $2.00 is available.

Skate Camp for ages 6-11
Local 5 O is holding a three day skateboarding camp for kids to improve on their skateboarding skills. A skate jam will be held at the end for kids to demonstrate their new boarding skills for friends and family.
Kids must bring the following required gear: Skateboard, Helmet. Pads are optional.
Gear such as Skateboards, helmet and pads can be rented, but you must call in advance to reserve.

Winter Skate Camp for ages 8-15
This two day ice skating camp will be a blast for kids. Former two- time Olympian, Cindy Kauffman-Marshall will be providing four hours of coaching. Kids will also be experiencing conditioning classes, public skate sessions, swimming, crafts and lunch will be provided. This camp will be held at Seventh Mountain Resort outdoor ice rink.

Teen Clay
Come learn the basic of clay in the clay studio. Work with the potters wheel, glazing and hand constructions of clay. Create cylinders. This class will teach you how to make dinnerware on the wheel, learn how to make vases, sculptures. Also learn the ancient Japanese firing technique, Raku. This class is designed for beginners to intermediate level.
