Even if you are a roommate you know that being on the front page is a big deal. As all the artists of the fleet tremble and say: “The chosen! You are the chosen!” Or maybe they just say, “Wow, that’s cool you got featured. Congrats.”
If you are not really familiar with Etsy, I will explain to you the meaning of the entity on the front page. I know that I am for my family.

Etsy is the largest online marketplace for handmade and vintage goods. Etsy has a strong and thriving community of sellers and buyers who love each other on the Etsy marketplace. The Etsy admin select user-curated collections of Etsy seller items, called stores, and feature them on the front page.
So they get hundreds of views, which means new fans of their art, and maybe even an influx of sales.
Being on the first page can be a big money maker or at least a confidence boost for the seller.
What Made Me Also Front Page Worthy
Etsy shop, Elisa’s Pieces, started in July 2010. It started to creep up slowly because I was a complete Etsy novice.
Over time I learned the importance of using trending tags and keywords in my titles and descriptions. My great father was a paper-doll whose features were important “father” and “father’s day”. Month Father’s Day, and Etsy admin like feature stores that go along with the month’s theme and celebrations.
Second, I worked on improving my pictures of the items. Billy, my stuffed paper doll, is pictured on a white background. Having a crisp image against a white background, it is popular with sellers who are plastered on the front page.
If you’re an Etsy seller who dreams of having those 60 minutes of fame, just keep improving your shop and tags. I still have a lot of work to do. Having such reactions to my paper doll just gave me the boost I needed to keep trucking and working towards my goal of working for myself.
