How to Build a Hidden Bunker

People have various reasons for being interested in building a hidden bunker. Many people fear for the economic future and social stability of their country, some people think the black helicopters are getting too close, and others just think it would be neat to have a secret hidden bunker. Whether your reasons for wanting a hidden bunker are based on logic or insanity, here are some tips to build your own secret bunker.

While I have written about making a bunker under your home before, there are some definite problems with the under house bunker. Aside from tearing a hole in the floor and all the mess, you can also do damage to the value of your home. Perhaps a better place for your underground bunker is not under your house, but under an outbuilding in the yard. You will still have to deal with making certain that you are not digging into buries wires or pipes, but if your out building is located over such things it probably can be moved, unlike your house.

The most important item with building a secure bunker is that others do not know about it. Work in short shifts in your outbuilding to not arouse the suspicions of nosey neighbors. By removing soil in a few five gallon buckets at a time, you are unlikely to draw much interest and be able to keep your hidden bunker a secret. Of course, you must move the dug up soil from your hidden bunker project away from your yard. People may well notice the truck load sized pile of dirt in your yard.

Supplies needed to build the hidden bunker need to be taken to the outbuilding in small batches as well. A few blocks, boards, or whatever being carried into an outbuilding is quite normal. Also, don’t scatter the normal contents of your outbuilding all over the yard near the building. Try to move larger equipment in and out while you are working. It would look odd to have an outbuilding, yet leave your lawnmower outside all of the time. One key to a successful secret bunker building project would be a good false floor. You will need the floor to be sturdy enough to hold the mower and normal contents of the building, yet still be able to open a door and get under the floor.

Good luck with your top secret hidden bunker building project. While hopefully you will never need to use your hidden bunker, it will be a neat experience building it. Don’t tell anyone about the bunker and let them find it after you are dead. Think of all the fun the person who finds it will have pondering why it was built!
