It’s that time of year! The time of year that feels like Christmas for all of us NFL fans! Time to get the fantasy football teams ready and time to get the Sunday barbecues ready! It’s also that time of year to purchase tickets for one or two of the games so you can see your teams in person!
When you are about to purchase football tickets, you must know the proper process. The first thing you should do is look up the tickets on Ticketmaster.com. By doing this, you can find out if there are tickets still available or if the game is sold out. If there are tickets still available, then there is no problem at all! Buy your tickets and you are all set! However, if the tickets are sold out, then you must find other means of finding tickets. There are three popular options for purchasing tickets.
1. Ebay:
This should be the first site that you utilize. The best thing about Ebay is that you can check the seller’s rating to see what kind of history they have. If the seller has a large number of transactions with countless positive reviews, then you can feel very safe and secure in purchasing tickets from this seller. The other advantage to Ebay is the auction style format, which often allows you to have the opportunity to purchase tickets for less than face value, as opposed to other sites, which often set flat rate prices for their tickets.
2. Craigslist:
You can find some very good deals on this site, too, but unlike Ebay, you have no means of checking sellers’ transaction histories. Craigslist is known for having various scammers, so make sure to collect as much information as possible from the seller, including their phone number, address and e-mail address. I recommend talking to the seller on the phone before making the purchase. If he/she is a scammer, then they will not be a fan of giving out their phone number. Another thing you can do to be safe is just send half of the payment. For example, if you purchase 4 tickets, then go ahead and send payment for 2 of the tickets. After they send you the 2 tickets, then you can go ahead and send payment for the other 2 tickets. There is always the slight chance of a scam, so better to get ripped off of 2 tickets instead of 4!
3. Stubhub:
Stubhub is actually a safer site to buy tickets off of than Craigslist, but the tickets on the site are also more expensive. It seems that the average prices of tickets on Stubhub are always significantly higher than face values. If the game is a dud and doesn’t have many buyers, then you may find some good deals on this site, but for the most part, the tickets listed on Stubhub are always severely overpriced. You can always get a better deal on Ebay.
When using these sites, remember to write down what games are sold out. Occasionally, sellers on these sites will indicate that the games are “SOLD OUT” in an attempt to gain your attention. Some of these sellers are misinformed and/or liars, so please be sure to check the availability on Ticketmaster. Obviously, I would think twice about buying tickets from a seller who provides false information about sellouts.
Those are my recommendations for finding tickets. If you can’t find any available tickets on any of those sites, then there are other sites around, too, but I recommend that these be the first three that you check out.
