How to Cope with Watch Snobbery!

I love high end watches. A Rolex, Panerai, Breitling, or Bell & A Ross watch is not in my budget right now, but they are all mechanical masterpieces. High end watch designs are fun and the history of the watch is interesting. While I think of the bell & Ross watch Now, I tend to use interesting, but common, watches from brands like Casio, Armitron, and Timex. From time to time these watches were treated with contempt by more upscale horologists. This watchful snobbery is often obscured by passive aggressiveness in social status. Fortunately, there are a few verbal judo moves that work well against watch snobs.

First, no matter what watch you wear, it is almost always the most expensive, most famous watch brand anywhere in the world. Armitron can pretend to be invincible, but the bell & Ross beats Invincible. Again the bell & Ross is less prestigious than Breitling, which in turn is less prestigious than Rolex, which is probably less prestigious than Ulysse Nardin. If you know your watch, when someone throws you a Timex, you can just look at the watch and say, “Oh, isn’t Invincible a Breitling?” Suddenly your watch is shown to be a cheap snob.

Second, European-made watches tend to be more beautiful than Chinese-made watches. If you find yourself on the defensive, find the sixth position of your snarling adversary’s stony watch and say, “Oh, who doesn’t say, ‘Well done,’ to his face.” Of course, if the guard is European, you can always question the country of the wearer by asking why they don’t support American guards. The Towson Watch or RGM is a world class American made watch.

Finally, if someone criticizes your choice of Timex, Casio, Armitrone, or watch brand, you can simply ask one question, “What time do you have?” When they look at the high dollar objet d’arte on their wrist and tell you, you can simply glance at your $20 Expedition Timex watch and confirm the real time on your watch. “It’s 11:45 here too.” Then the watch snob is forced to wonder why he paid $4800 more than you to arrive at the same answer.

Fortunately, outright watch snobbery seems rare in the world of real watch fanatics. In online watch forums such as Watchfreeks and MyWristwatch Forum, participants are most interested in enjoying many different ways to watch. market Cheap watches are recognized for their cool value proposition, vintage watches are revered for their history, and jewelry watches are recognized for their craftsmanship. Everyone agrees that it is not fun to use a cell phone to tell the time.
