How to Copy Blair Waldorf’s Makeup Look from Gossip Girl

One of the CW’s new hit shows is Gossip Girl, and while I am drawn into it for the witty banter and drama I can not help but covet the expensive wardrobes of the female stars that I will, unfortunately, never be able to afford. However, there is one thing about these gossip girls, especially Blair Waldorf (play by Leighton Meister), that I can easily and much less expensively copy – her makeup look. Blair usually goes for the typical no-makeup makeup look. Her skin looks perfectly porcelain and she just has a slight trace of color on her cheeks and lips.

To copy Blair’s simple yet classy makeup look, first apply a liquid foundation onto your face. You could also use a powder foundation if that is your preference, but I like to use Chanel Mat Lumiere. This foundation has is liquid but has a mat finish so you won’t need to apply any powder afterwards.

Next comes the blush. Blair usually has just a touch of a light pink color. I use Smashbox in the color Aurora. All you need a light sweep across the apple of your cheeks, in any soft pink color of your choice.

For your eyes, simply use a matte medium brown eye shadow. Apply the shadow only in the creases and use a darker shade of brown to line your upper and lower lash lines. I use Bobbi Brown brand in the color Sable for the shadow and Rich Brown to line my eyes, but any brand of browns will have the same effect.

To keep the soft look Blair often goes for (so different from her personality), you don’t need to use any mascara.

For the lips, Blair often uses a coral pink lipstick or gloss. I have found Laura Mercier Lip Color Crème gives a similar look to what is often found on Miss Waldorf, especially in the color Roman Moon.

You don’t have to use these same brand’s to achieve Blair’s makeup look from Gossip Girl, but they certainly work well. Experiment with what you have at home and maybe splurge on a new product or two.

With this makeup look you will look and feel gorgeous, ready for a day out on the town, whether it be New York City or a much smaller town. But remember, while you are copying Blair Waldorf’s makeup, try not to copy her attitude as well.
