How to Create Homemade Baby Shower Thank You Notes

After delivering homemade baby shower invitations for a dear friend, it only seemed fitting to follow up with handmade “thank you” notes. After all, who wants to worry about a baby shower, thank you notes when you are anticipating labor, dirty hay, late night grazing and more. Actually, as a practical baby-shower-gift-ideas”>baby-shower-gift-ideas”>baby- shower-gift-ideas”>baby- shower gift for my friend, I not only did “thank yous” but also gave envelopes and bought notes. Because I had access to guest-list, I also addressed the notes.

Here is a simple and yet friendly idea for a homepun baby gift thank you note:

victuals
For these paper “diapers” you’ll need a few crafty supplies. Start with a stack of neutral pale green and yellow 8 ½ by 11 inch stock paper. Next, purchase some large white 12 by 12 inch card stock preferably with a light texture. You will also need a bunch of medium safety pins and a roll of thin yellow ribbon. A computer, glue and scissors are also a must. For added dimension and flair, it’s a good idea to buy some pop-up stickers that appear to make the item or sticker “jump” off the page. For added decoration, try a scrapbooking product called “Stickles”, which is a tube of glitter glue with a narrow tip perfect for detailing small sparkly projects. Most of these items can be found at Archives, JoAnne Fabrics, Michaels, Hobby Lobby or even Target and Wal-Mart.

Easy How To Command
Cut an 8 by 11 inch cardstock paper in half and then in half to create the paper. Use the computer to print the words, “a bundle of thanks!” Ridiculous use of the font. Use white tissue paper to cut out a free shape. At some specialty scrapbooking stores like Archivers, you can have free access to cutting machines that punch special holes onto paper stock. My local store just happened to have a diaper die cut pattern as well as a stork and a baby carriage, both of which could also be used for this project.

Then poke a safety pin through the top of the diaper and tie a yellow bow on the pin. Then stick the diaper on the card using the “pop up”. Round the corners of the printed phrase and attach the words under the diaper. Use flashing polish, sharpening the exclamation point. Finally, the paper’s rounded corners provide a softer, finished look.

Price
For about 40 thank you notes, I spent about $8.00 on paper stock. Rolls of ribbon can usually be purchased for about $3.00 and safety pins cost $2.00. Glitter and pop up stickers priced around $2.00 each can normally be found at Office Depot or Office Max for around $10.00. All in all, this plan, minus taxes, will cost you under $30.00. Not a bad price for a homemade card and one of a kind baby-shower-gift”>baby shower gift!
