Emeril Lagasse is one of the Chefs Network’s most popular food writers. His cuisine is based on New Orleans style cuisine, and he is the owner of nine restaurants in New Orleans and several other cities. He is also the author of several cookbooks including the best sellers “In My World Chef” and “New New Orleans Cooking.” He has two shows on Food Network: Emeril’s Essence and Emeril’s Live. You may know that the catch is in his words: “Bam!” (recently in toothpaste used on television) and “kick a notch”.
Emeril was born in Massachusetts, and took up bankruptcy at a young age. After graduating in high school, Emeril contemplated between two career paths: music or food. He chose a food and culinary program at Johnson and Wales University. After continuing his studies in Paris, Emeril returned to the US and then began working at Brennan’s, a restaurant in New Orleans. There, in his passion, all of New Aurelia caught hold of his eloquence.
In 1993, Emeril joined Food Network with Emeril’s essence. With the special two years after the hit, the live audience was so enthusiastic that the Food Network developed Emeril Live. Emeril Live began in 1997. Both Emeril Live and Emeril’s Essence were nominated for Emmy awards, and Emeril Live won the coveted CableAce Award in 1997.

It can be anything from a special holiday dinner to Louisiana favorites. Guest chefs were also invited to appear as part of Emeril’s. In order to keep the energy high during the show, Emeril wanted to have live music. The house band is the Doc Gibbs and Emeril Live band. Emeril has also lined up guest artists on his show, such as Aretha Franklin, Willie Nelson and Sammy Hagar.
Taping takes place three times a year, in one-week segments. More shows are available every day. There are also some tapings done outside of NYC that are special shows.
Emeril’s live audience tickets are one of the most sought after live audience show tickets in NYC. Tickets only available through Food Network. They hold the lot once a year (or more if needed).
