Every family needs a scrapbook album. A scrapbook album is a great place to place all of your cherished family photos so that they may be enjoyed for years to come. Family Albums are a great way for a beginner to start scrapbooking as they offer an abundance of ideas and there are usually endless pictures to get started with which make for some really great idea generation.
There are so many great layout ideas for a Family scrapbook album that sometimes it can actually be difficult to choose just one layout to work on at a time. Family scrapbook layout ideas are as endless as the moment that families cherish. This guide will get you started on some great family scrapbook album layout ideas from start to finish.
Layout #1: Family: Every Family scrapbook album has got to have a family page. This page could have just one large photo mat with the title FAMILY or photo mats for each individual in the family. It should include all members of the immediate family no matter what.
Layout #2: Relatives: Family scrapbook albums are all about family so depending on the size of the family, there may need to be multiple relative layouts. Some ideas for relative layouts include making a family tree with pictures of each relative included on the page or creating a funny theme such as “Our Crazy Family” with monkeys swinging around the different pictures.
Layout #3: Father’s Love: This layout will showcase the bonds between a child or children and the father of the family. You may also want to include pictures of the mother and her father bonding or the father and his father as well. A Father’s love goes a long way so make sure to include it in a family scrapbook album.
Layout #4: Mother’s Heart: Mother’s heart layout is for mom and child pictures. Create on page for each child or one page that showcases all of the children spending time with mom. Either way, Mother’s heart is a good way to cherish the bond between mom and her kids in a family scrapbook album.
Layout #5: Grandparents: Grandparent’s Warm the Heart is a great theme for a grandparent layout. Another good idea would be to make a layout that shows the grandchildren cooking with grandma for the holidays or maybe a if the grandchild is a boy he has spent some time fishing with grandpa…all of these memories make great idea starters for a grandparents scrapbook layout. This layout could take up multiple pages depending on how many grandparents are in the family and whether you choose to showcase grandma and grandpa together for each layout or separately, just as long as they are included in the family album.
Layout #6: Children: A family scrapbook can easily get filled with pages and pages of each of the kids. One recommendation is to save the tons of pictures of the kids for their own individual albums, but do include some in the family album. It is best to use the pictures that show all of the kids together in the family album as this is what family is all about…being together!
Layout #7: Home: Every family album must include pictures that commemorate the family home. Although families move around far more these days so this could be difficult. A great way to create a home layout for a family that moves around a lot is to just include small pictures of each home on a timeline or to only include pictures of the area where the family typically has spent the majority of their time. If home changes a lot, that’s ok just showcase the important things about home that make it special no matter where it may be!
