Introduction:
Get ready to fold a kid friendly fun flying airplane.
Do’s and Don’ts List:
Do, Make exact folds and crease well
Do, Make sure your plane is symmetrical, each wing should be a mirror image of each other, if you make a mistake on one side, make it on the other
Do, Throw it easily
Don’t, Make sloppy folds or your plane will not fly properly
Don’t, Aim at someone’s face
Don’t, Throw in inappropriate areas like during church service
Materials:
8 ½” X 11″ paper, tablet paper and construction paper do not work well. Paper with designs on one side works best, but if you only have printer paper put some sort of mark on one side to differentiate them.
Let’s Get Started:
Step 1: Place the side of the paper with the mark on it down.
Step 2: Fold the paper diagonally, so there is a perfect triangle on top and rectangle at the bottom of the paper, then unfold. Repeat with the other side.
Step 3: Turn the page over with the mark facing up.
Step 4: Fold the top of the paper down. The top edge of the paper should line up with the bottom of the creased X created in step 2.
Step 5: Flip the paper over and press down on the center of the X. The sides will “pop” up.
Step 6: While folding the top edge of the paper down, press the sides in along the horizontal crease that you already made.
Step 7: Bring the right loose triangle over to the left side and crease.
Step 8: Fold the right edge over until the bottom right corner is aligned with the top point of the paper.
Step 9: Flip over paper.
Step 10: Fold the top right side piece of paper over and place on top of the left side.
Step 11: Fold the right edge over until the bottom corner is aligned with the top point of the paper (just like you did in step 8).
Step 12: Fold the top right piece over to the left side. Flip the back left side under the paper and over to the right side.
Step 13: Fold the top of the paper down until is 1″ from the center bottom of the paper.
Step 14: Fold the center tip up until it meets the center top of the paper.
Step 15: Flip it over.
Step 16: Fold the left side of the paper over so it is on top of the right side.
Step 17: Fold ½ of the layers on the right side over so the tow vertical outside edges meet up.
Step 18: Flip it over.
Step 19: Do the same for this side as in step 17. Make sure the wings are lined up.
Step 20: Hold the underside of the plane where the paper creases meet, aim anywhere above eye level, and throw.
