I wish you were just like me and love Chinese food, but don’t always have the money to buy it. Well, I found an easy solution to this problem and you can do it yourself in just 30 minutes at home.
Let’s start with my favorite – Alpheus Lo Mein.
You can find the same noodles they use at your local Chinese restaurant in your neighborhood Wal-Mart grocery store for oriental foods replace the section. In the same section you will also find the Lo Mein sauce that you will miss. I like the La Choy brand of sauce itself, but you can probably find other brands of sauce at a lower price.
After you have your sauce and noodles, head to the frozen food section and find the oriental movement roasted and raw or cooked. You want shrimp in any size.
Alright, now we have all the supplies, let’s start cooking.
If you want to buy raw shrimp, the first step is to remove the shells. Place them in a medium-sized sauce pan with ¾ cup of water and 2 grams of butter or margarine. and cook at medium temperature.
While that is cooking, start a pot of water to boil the noodles. Once your shrimp are done, put them in a bowl on the side, and start your stir-fry with half a teaspoon of margarine or butter in a large pan, cook on medium heat for 5 minutes.
Add the noodles to the now boiling water and cook for 3 minutes then drain and set aside. Once the vegetables are done, add in the shrimp, noodles and La Choy Lo Mein Sauce and mix well. Let it boil for 2 to 3 minutes, then remove the sticks and enjoy.
Now let’s try it – Chicken Lo Mein.
Like the Shrimp Lo Mein, you need to buy Chinese noodles to make the Chicken Lo Mein. You’ll also need five pounds of boneless and skinless chicken, a bottle of La Choy Lo Mein sauce and a bag of Oriental Stir Fry.
First, cut the chicken breast lengthwise as thin as you can, then cut each slice into squares. Once done, place the chicken in a medium saucepan with 1 cup of water and 2 grams of margarine or butter of your choice. seasoned
Cook at a low temperature while turning each piece around for a minute, until the whole chicken is done. While chicken is cooking, start the middle of the water grill noodles. Boil the water then add in your noodles for about 3 minutes. Drain and rinse in cold water.
Once chicken and noodles are done, grab a large non-wooden skillet and stir fry your oriental recipe with 1/ 2 teaspoons margarine or butter. Boil on medium temperature for about 5 minutes.
When the roast is done, add in the chicken, your bottle of La Choy Lo Mein sauce and the noodles. Simmer on low for about 2 to 3 minutes then serve.
