How to Make Unique Wedding Favors

When I wanted to get married again, I wanted to donate what the shelves of party shops were usually seen on display. We wanted something unique, but we didn’t want to spend a lot of money.

So my then fiance and I decided to make our own. About three months before the wedding, we shopped around for one-of-a-kind items that we could just decorate and put our names on. It took a few experiments to get the look we wanted, but the result was beautiful.

In one of the department, we found star bottles about 4 inches long, open on one side. They were for sale, because I saw the originals already old. We thought we could just remove all their decorations and put them in our design. We bought everything that was available, which numbered to 100. It was enough for the number of our guests.

When we took the bottles home, we cut them off and poured out the contents. There was nothing we could do with them anyway, so we just gave them up.

then he was asked what would fill the bottle. I thought first of the plastic balls that were red in color and gold, which was our theme color for the wedding. The top will be a piece of red tulle cut, tied with a red ribbon, and with our “thanks” attached to the chest tied with a gold ribbon. It turns out that the plastic bottles cost a lot because each bottle contained at least half a bottle. So we looked for a cheaper and more reliable alternative. What we found were red and yellow colored potpourri.

Here is what I did;

1. Glue one piece of red cloth onto a piece of yellow potpourri. Make the reverse in the red piece of potpourri. Dry
2. Fill the bottle with the red and yellow potpourri mixture that do not have beads in them.
3. Then carefully insert the potpourri with glass beads as it can be seen.
4. Cover the wide opening with clear tape or plastic to prevent molds and rust from developing in the potpourri. (Potpourri inside the bottle will not serve as any air freshener. It will be for decorative purposes only).
5. Cut a piece of red tulle, just enough to open and fall down the sides of the bottle mouth.
Secure with a small rubber band.
7. Tie a red ribbon with gold at the top of the cover band to band it. To make a bow.
8. Attach the prepared “thank you” card in the bow using gold thread.

It’s a given. Red and gold flowers can also be glued around the red bow for an accent.

It was a lot of work on my part, but our guests loved it. They said he was unique and talented.
