How to Make Your Own Wall-o-Water for Tomato Plants

Everyone wants to get on the ground as soon as possible. Unfortunately, Mother Nature is not always cooperating. You’ve made your home wall-of-water guardians, tomato plants you can send out weeks before the last frost.

I was tired of commercial products for this and did not like it for various reasons. They are never hung up enough to fill them effectively. One side was always curved, either protruding from the walls, drawing water to the ground in a heap, or falling on my tomato plants. Once I was able to fill them I found that I had to peek at the top to check on my tomato plants and really couldn’t do this very well.

The tomato plant grew well and obviously loved the added warmth of the hot water supplied; however, when it was time to remove the wall-o-water another hassle was revealed. Emptying the water pockets and removing the water wells was a hassle and suddenly exposed my tomato plants to outside rough environments without the benefit of hardening off. This happened in some damage from wind and sun and in tomato plants the growth stopped suddenly while it was catching up. climate change

After some thought I found a way to reap the benefits of a warm protective ring water around my plants without the hassles of wall-o water protection.

Here’s how I created the same effect with two recycled soda bottles. Wash and remove the label from the 7 two-liter bottles and fill with water.

Location

Choose a place for your tomato plants. As with all tomato plants, it is important to choose a sunny location with rich soil and proper drainage.

Heats the ground

To warm the soil, I put my bottles in the garden a day or two before the tomato plants start. You can change the place of the bottles, this is easy to do. You can also warm the soil by covering the area with black plastic for a few days.

Transfer Tomato Susceptibility Plants

When the soil has warmed up, set aside the bottles and transfer the tomato plant into the soil. Dig a hole 8 inches in diameter and 6 inches high. Add a portion of water to the pit. Place the root ball at the end of the hole and plant the tomato plant on its side by gently bending the stem with the leaves touching the side. Fill the hole with soil and pack it firmly. About four inches of the tomato plant should be above the ground. So don’t worry; in no time it will regain its former height. They will form roots on the root and confirm that your tomato plant will have a strong root system.

Sustain

Arrange two literwater bottles to form a circle around each plant. The bottles must not touch each other. Make sure to leave enough space between the tomato plant and the bottles for growing the plant.

Adapt for Growth

When your tomatoes start to grow, if they need more space, you can simply add another bottle of water and make the circle a little bigger place of growth.

Lock off

When the tomato susceptibility has reached the top of the bottles, it is time to start hardening off your tomato plants. Remove one bottle and evenly space others around the small tomato leaving intervals between the bottles to allow the plant to get used to it. outside the scope After a few days, remove another bottle and leave wider gaps between the bottles.

Gradually removing the bottles until the tomato plant is accustomed to the external conditions prevents the tomato plant’s lymph and prevents sudden growth.

With these home made protections for your tomato plants, you can give your plants a jump start in the spring. before the last spring frost. The heat from the water bottles will provide growth and shelter your plants from the elements. When it’s time to remove the protective wall , it is possible to gradually adapt the tomato plants to the environment and encourage continuous growth.
