How to Play the Cornhole Game

Have you ever heard of this game? People all over the country are learning how to play the Cornhole game. It’s popularity is sweeping across the entire United States.

Basically, Cornhole is a new type of tossing game. It’s played with small bags that are filled with corn. These bags are tossed by the players at an elevated board that has a hole in its upper end. The board is raised up so the hole is higher than the rest of the board. If a player tosses a bag into the hole, that play is worth 3 points. A corn bag tossed onto the platform earns a player one point, and the scoring goes on like that. The game ends when, after the players take turns, one of the players reaches a total score of 21 points.

Cornhole is a game of skill that can be played by a team of any two players, no matter what their age or gender is. Its players are usually standing, but you can learn how to play the Cornhole game even if you have to sit down to do it!

An additional bonus about learning how to play the Cornhole game, is that you can purchase the equipment that’s needed to play the game, or, you can actually make it yourself. There are even Cornhole kits that you can make with your kids. All you really need are eight small bags that are filled with corn. Four of the bags needs to be one color, while the other four bags will be another color. The bags should measure six inches square. They should also weigh one pound each. And, you’ll need two wooden boards that measure 2X4 feet with holes in them. The holes in each board will need to be six inches in diameter. They should be centered so they are located nine inches from the back and twelve inches from each side of the wooden board.

To learn how to play the Cornhole game right, you’ll need to position the wooden boards so they are on a level playing surface, and are 27 feet apart. The boards will need to face each other. The boards will need to be elevated (if they aren’t built on platforms already) so their fronts are three inches up off the ground. The backs should be twelve inches up off the ground.

Now, you’ll need two teams that consist of two players each so you can learn how to play the Cornhole game. (The Cornhole game is versatile in that it can be played in teams or by single players.) The players need to position themselves so they are opposite the boxes on the same side. All players must remain behind the foul line. A toss of a coin is a fair way to determine who starts the Cornhole game first. The first player then tosses a corn bag at the opposite box. His or her score (if any) is recorded, and the play moves onto the next team. Each player of each team then repeats the playing process. When one of the teams reaches a score of 21, they win! The winners then start the next game by throwing the corn-filled bags first.

And finally, to learn how to play the Cornhole game, you’ll need to learn more about the scoring system. Such as, a player is awarded 1 point if he/she hangs a corn bag on the hole of a wooden board. And, a player is awarded 1 point if their bag is hanging off the edge of the playing surface as long as it’s not touching the ground.
