How to Treat an Eyebrow Wax Burn

An eyebrow wax burn can leave your eye feeling like it is on fire, and the redness only seems to draw more attention to the fact that you burned your eyebrow with wax. To make matters worse, the stinging sensation that it can cause may last for hours or even days.

It seems that darker skinned people, like me, will often heal more quickly than those with lighter skin, and there are definitely a few things you can do to alleviate the pain and help the eyebrow wax burn heal much quicker.

Before you begin to use any products on the open skin, test a small area of your skin to make sure that you are not allergic to any of the products.

Aloe Vera can help to ease the burning and stinging sensation and will also help to heal the eyebrow wax burn. Aloe Vera comes in a gel or you can use the plant, I don’t recommend using the cream because it does not work as well as the gel or the plant.

Once you have the Aloe Vera, apply it directly to the eyebrow wax burn and try to avoid getting it into your eye. If you happen to get it into your eye, wash your eye out with water for ten minutes and if this does not help, seek a doctor to have your eye flushed out.

Adding Aloe Vera to the eyebrow wax burn can be done throughout the day and may help in preventing scarring. If you purchase a product that has Aloe Vera in it, try to get it as close to 100% Aloe Vera as possible.

You can also use ice wrapped in a towel as long as the skin isn’t broken. The ice will help with the redness and swelling that is caused by the eyebrow wax burn.

Eyebrow wax burns can be very painful and can even leave a scar if not taken care of as soon as possible. Getting eyebrow waxes too close together can also cause you to get an eyebrow wax burn. If at all possible, try to only have an eyebrow wax once a month to prevent an eyebrow wax burn.

Certain products may also cause your skin to be more subtle to eyebrow wax burns. Products that dry your skin out will cause your skin to become irritated when you have an eyebrow wax done.

Pay attention to all products that you have been using each time that you get an eyebrow wax burn so that you can see which products are causing your skin to be more sensitive and then try to refrain from using these at least a week before you have your eyebrows waxed.
