Diamonds Billiard Club, located at 910 East Birch Street in the city of Brea, California 92821 is a nice little billiards bar located at the northernmost point of Orange County, California. The amenities in themselves(pool tables, seating, restrooms, dartboards, jukebox, drinks, etc.,.) are well above average and clean, a necessity of utmost importance when heading out. But what separates Diamonds from other local night spots is the atmosphere. Diamonds houses a very mature, relaxed atmosphere, and although the music can get louder than your conversational voice, it isn’t your prototypical bar scene. Like a staple of many clubs and bars, Diamonds boasts an array of attractive bartenders and servers. But because of the maturity and the intimate atmosphere inside, you aren’t fighting through a crowd to get to them or waving dollars in their face to get their attention. You aren’t treated like a number or an unwelcomed guest, and on rare occasions when they try to talk you into buying yourself another drink, it’s done with a wink and a smile. But really, they don’t care.
Diamonds also serves appetizers and lunch and dinner dishes, for those inescapable munchies that come after the first two or three rounds. I’ve no idea when the kitchen closes, or if it does, as you will see on any given night food being served well beyond midnight. The pool tables are completely upscale, and Diamonds allegedly has them balanced a minimum of three times a month. Seating is limited(unless you get a pool table), and reservations for a pool table are highly encouraged, especially on weekends. Making Diamonds even more attractive is the price. Pool tables are approximately $12 and hour(the norm), and drinks are very reasonably priced. Make sure you bring enough cash to tip the bartenders well though, because they do tend to take care of you. Diamonds is 21+, ID is required for entry, no strict dress code enforced but hats and headwear is asked to be removed at the door.
I’ve never seen an incident occur at Diamonds and have never felt the meat-market vibe. If you’re tired of rambunctious youth ruining a good night out, or tired of getting hit on by drunken slobs who fail to even look you in the eyes, gather a friend or two and drive up the 57 North til you get to Brea.
