I needed to get a night light for our garage. I have a day’s work in our house, and families enter through the dark room. Windows in the garage and side door, this gives some light to the area, but needs light at night. . When I found this GE brand Electroluminescent Clock at my local Bed Bath & Beyond the warehouse, I paid $14.99 without hesitation! It seemed like the perfect solution to me.
Description
This GE night light is called the Electroluminescent Clock Night Light and it measures just under 3″ in diameter, while the face itself is 2 7/8″ in diameter. It looks exactly like a small clock, with a number of black dials and a second hand that clicks. The whole face of the clock is illuminated, and the hands also glow in the dark. EL light is energy efficient. This night light clock runs on a single LR44 battery, which is included and installed at the time of clock purchase.
The outer frame of the clock is made of colored brass plastic similar to wood or marble. It is easy to open the lever on the back that you twist to install a new device, and set the clock to turn the time.
Thoughts
This is a great item to have in the house and I am going to buy another one for my master bathroom. The clock is always on and keeps time even when it is unplugged from the power source. The plan is well thought out. the spikes that plug into the output are at the very bottom of the clock, so that when it hits the top output, it doesn’t cover any part of the bottom output!
Since parents often have days that run slowly, they can easily see the time when they enter my garage! Not to mention the slowness, they see easily by themselves. This is also very useful to have in the bathroom. When our daughter was a teenager, she was always dressed and ready for school, and spent a lot of time in the bathroom. I always reminded her of the time, but with this clock in the room tonight I could easily keep track of the time.
Every morning in the morning I need the eight daycare kids to run to the bus, and inevitably one of them will always stay up. Get ready before you decide to use the bathroom! Since the clock is easily visible, the time can be seen by itself and one week I had it in my bathroom (and another night I put a light in my garage), I found it extremely useful.
I think there are several rooms where a light like this would come in very handy. I would love to have this in my hotel room with me on my vacations or trips! There are a few warnings in the package that you should observe, such as not using the cord of this clock, and the plug only exposed to the outlet of the wall, and not to be touched with bedding or materials that could present a fire hazard. With that warning, you’d think this watch would get hot, but it actually stays cool to the touch, and the bulbs never need to be replaced. This watch makes a ticking sound, so if that bothers you, you might not want to buy one. Look around too, this is a little cheap online, but then you need to figure out the shipping .
There aren’t many night lamps that I’ll pay nearly $15 for, but this one is for sure! In fact, I can’t wait to buy my second one. She works great, is very lovely, and is a great help in my home daycare.
