“Oh, no. They don’t show anything else.”
I think this is a lot of people’s first reaction when they hear about a new show. Then, when they show the audience the premise, there’s a lot of eye rolling and shaking.
This was my reaction when I heard about InstantBeauty-pageant. But I saw the first story. And I must have loved it, because then I watched several episodes. For, as things show, this is not too bad.
InstantBeauty Pageant, on the Style Network, has a simple premise. All things considered, the spectacle of traveling to a new city. There, six women are unexpectedly ambushed on the road, given $500 and three hours in a shop for evening gowns and sandals, and then in beauty to compete in the spectacle before a live audience. The winner receives an all-expenses-paid, 6-day, 7-night trip to Cabo San Lucas, and is crowned Miss Instant Beauty (Insert Name of City Here).
Sounds kind of silly, huh? Well, kind of stupid. And one good thing about Instant Beauty Pageant is that this show doesn’t take itself too seriously. Soldiers know it’s just a little bit of fun, and that’s okay. Because, while many reality shows require participants to be active and make fools of themselves, the Instant Beauty Pageant asks the contestants to do something new for fun.
But it’s not all sunshine and flowers. Instant Beauty Pageant turns some contestants into instant divas. (Or, in the case of a contestant’s friend, he can call on them to help them prepare, instant “stage mothers.”) In one episode, the assistant seemed to have left him to do his mission to the displeasure of each and every one of the other contestants. that all may know that dogs are compared to themselves as friends. In another episode, the male assistant was transformed into a Svengali, much to the fighter’s surprise. He ordered her to look around, ignoring her opinions and suggestions, basically cutting her and the viewers off.
Yes, yes, shows like Instant Beauty Spectrum can make people the worst. But it can also be from the best. In one event, he had a huge stage fright accident before the rose curtain. The other contestants seemed to completely forget that she was a rival for the beautifully tasty prize. but they gathered around him, and he urged him to go on.
Not that all the beauty pageant contestants take seriously. First At first most people seem to do it like larks. Have fun taking other people’s money and just get free from the deal. But, at the hour of the three-hour run, the competition juices start flowing and, from the moment the beauty of the show begins, you can tell that most of these women really want to win.
For the very beauty of the show, it is a pure amateur night. And no one expects anything else. But the women prepare them so little, and many of them have never done amazingly well in shows before. The talent competition is especially fun. Or grieving, depending on your part.
And the emotions of the winners are surprisingly touching. Cheesy perhaps. But still about.
The instant format of the show is not groundbreaking TV. But this can prove to be a fun time to waste an hour.
