InStep Sierra Double Bicycle Trailer Review

Earlier this year, I purchased the InStep Sierra Double Bicycle Trailer to bring my toddler around town on hikes and camping trips and day biking trips. While a few improvements could be made, I feel overall that the InStep Sierra Bicycle Trailer Double is a great value and would recommend others to consider this trailer if they are in the market for one.

One of the things I absolutely love about this bike-trailer is how easy it is to attach and remove the bike from my bike. The trailer itself comes with a coupler attachment to be permanently installed to your bike (additional ones can be purchased very cheaply). Once the couple is installed, it takes seconds to attach the trailer to the bike. This was good for me because I store my bike on a hook in my garage and six in the shed.

Another great thing about this bike trailer is that it has a real seat (not a hammock like many others in the same price range) with three buckle harnesses (not hook harnesses). Both of these features make this trailer very comfortable for my daughter to ride. Also, although these two child seats follow, the straps are designed to be easily adjusted to seat children safely. medium.

The InStep Twin Mountain Bicycle Trailer rides on very light pavement and dirt trails and doesn’t cause much hant on my bike. A small storage compartment in the back and two backpacks in the top compartment for a child store a small book or toy. Other features include a clear plastic cover for wet or cooling storms or a mesh for hot days.

One of the downsides of the InStep Sierra Double Bicycle Trailer is that the front wheel attachment is designed to convert the bike trailer to jogging. stroller doesn’t really work for me. It goes too far and often flips in the wrong direction, getting stuck. Since I’m not using this for training for a triathlon with my daughter in tow, this hasn’t been a big deal. Biking to the grocery store and then adding a bike to walk my daughter to work is just fine. The handle is very strong and flexible to push. It is also easy to put on and take off, but I allow it every time.

As for the bike ride, my husband and I had a video from box and my bike connected. in less than half an hour and most of that time was spent on manual reporting to make sure we put everything right for the safety of the child.

Note: As of July 2012, the InStep Sierra Double Bicycle Trailer is priced at $124.33 on Amazon.
