Interesting Facts About The Jonas Brothers

Capturing the tween set by storm, the Jonas Brothers are the newest hot recording band of the Disney Channel’s millions of viewers. Boy bands have always enjoyed immense popularity among prepubescent girls. From Hanson to N’ Sync, The Backstreet Boys and Ninety Eight Degrees, boy bands are a mainstay on young girl’s walls and CD players. Almost a prerequisite to adulthood, idolizing teen stars of boy bands is not a trend that is going away any time soon. Clean cut and talented, The Jonas Brothers are the newest Pop icons to make their mark on young girls’ hearts everywhere. Here are some fun facts about this hardworking and talented band of youngsters.

Given Names. The Jonas Brothers family given names are Joseph Adam Jonas, Nicholas Jerry Jonas and Paul Kevin Jonas II. Known simply as Joe, Nick and Paul to their legions of fans, the Jonas Brothers were given beautiful names by their proud parents.

Another Jonas Brother. There is also a fourth Jonas brother, named Frank. Thus far, Frank has avoided the spotlight. Judging from his brothers’ vast talent, there is no doubt Frank will emerge sooner rather than later as another creative force to be reckoned with.

Teen Dreams. Paul Jonas is the eldest, age 19. Joe is 18 and Nick is 14. With a five year span of the boys, there is a Jonas Brother to idolize from the tween age range and beyond. It is certainly impressive that the brothers are able to successfully work together due to the age differences among the boys.

Jersey Boys. The Jonas brothers hail from the Garden state. A fact that my two Jersey girls were happy to hear!

Almost Just A Jonas Brother. The Jonas Brothers originated as a solo project by the youngest member of the band, Nick Jonas. Nick Jonas was quite the enterprising young man with a clear passion for music to embark on such a project at such a tender age. After realizing the talent and charisma of the other Jonas brothers, the solo act quickly became a family affair.

Educating The Fans. Nick Jonas has diabetes, which he shared with his fans during one of their concerts. This undoubtedly led to discussion of the condition between parents and their young fans. I find this to be a great service he performed, not to mention, a comfort to those young fans who also must deal with diabetes on a daily basis.

Almost Not The Jonas Brothers. Another name kicked around among the members of the group was, “Sons of Jonas.” After debating all possible names of the boy band, The Jonas Brothers was the winner. I think they made a great choice, don’t you?

Family Affair. The boys’ father is the band’s manager and was responsible for securing The Jonas Brother’s record contracts. Hopefully this means that their father is highly involved in the boys’ activities and will be a positive force in preventing them from succumbing to the less than appropriate temptations of fame.

August Is the Month For Jonas Brothers Music. The Jonas Brothers first album was released in August 2006 and their second album, entitled “Jonas Brothers” became available to the public on August 7, 2007. With excellent exposure from the Jonas Brothers television appearances and popularity on Radio Disney, their commercial musical offerings are enjoying great popularity and frequent radio play.

All Over The Television Dial. The Jonas Brothers have appeared several times on MTV’s Total Request Live, the popular children’s network Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. They have also appeared on Disney Channel’s monstrous hit, Hannah Montana. The Jonas Brothers were co presenters with Miley Cyrus at the popular Teen Choice Awards which aired in August 2007 on Fox. They also appeared in national commercials for Baby Bottle Pops in 2007. This vast televison exposure most definitely gained The Jonas Brothers legions of new fans.

More Television To Come. A Disney Channel program is planned for 2008 starring the Jonas Brothers to be called J.O.N.A.S ! I have two young tween girls in this house who will sure to be glued to the television set when this highly anticipated program makes it’s debut.

On The Road. The Jonas Brothers will have a very busy Fall and Winter as they are embarking on a fifty plus date tour with Miley Cyrus. The tour began in October 2007 and ends in January 2008.Tickets for the first leg of the tour sold out in minutes which gives you a clear indication of these young men’s popularity.

With good looks, engaging personalities and a plethora of musical talent, the Jonas Brothers are the nwest boy band to take their place in pop music history. Only time will tell if these young men can mature with their audience to retain their current popularity.
