I spend a lot of time in front of my computer during the week. As a liberal writer, I not only use my computer for writing, but also for researching and checking facts. Over the years I have had many days in which the writer’s block falls apart. When he does, one of my favorite studies has been to listen to music. This once meant turning on the radio or popping through a CD in the CD player. Over time, this progressed to popping the CD into the computer itself, and eventually I had to listen to the radio through my computer and speed Internet connection.
This last year, when I got speed access, I found myself trying out radio stations online, for the simple reason that the radio I don’t have it in the same room as my computer, so it makes sense to listen online when the services are so readily available now.
This brings me to how I came to listen to satellite-radio online. When my husband and I bought a new one this past summer, one of the many goodies that came with it was a six-month subscription to Sirius Satellite Radio, which included a free subscription. While the online version of the paid online survey vehicle subscription is free, the service is free, so keep that in mind. If you want to try before you buy, and you don’t already have the luxury of being a Sirius Satellite customer, they offer a three-day pass to see what all the fuss is about for this free radio business.
What you will find in country music is hip-hop, pop, rock, Christian, jazz and classical, along with radio interviews, sports, including NASCAR in 2007, and more. From Hedo Stuff to Howard Stern, from Martha to Blue Collar, you’re sure to find a station you’ll enjoy. all able to hear without commercials.
Through the channels easy and direct, with a simple menu format. You can also see the last five songs played, including both the artist name and the song name.
The cost for the Sirius Online Satellite Radio service is a bit steep in my opinion, but at $12.95 a month, it’s the same as what you would pay for the service in your vehicle, when you then have the free internet version. In other words, pay the same fee for online access only or for online and access in a vehicle equipped with the appropriate equipment.
There are various options for upgrading your vehicle subscription to include an earlier version that incurs additional charges on top of what you’re already paying, such as a $6.99 per month fee that adds another subscriber access to your subscription.
If you really enjoy listening to radio online, Sirius Satellite Radio is a great choice when it comes to quality and ease of use, but unless you’re already a subscriber; the cost can be somewhat expensive.
