Selling on Craigslist can be profitable or it can just be a waste of time. Here are several items that sell great on Craigslist and the pros and cons of each of them.
Lawn Mowers sell great on Craigslist, even broken ones can sell for at least $25. Men that know how to fix lawn mowers buy them and fix them to sell them for a profit on Craigslist. Pros- They always sell, even broken and they sell quickly. You can usually find them for free on the side of the road so they are all profit. Cons- Hard to price especially if you aren’t sure what is wrong with them and they can be hard to get to home if you don’t have a truck.
Bicycles
Bicycles are fast easy sells just like lawn mowers, clean them up take a picture and you’re ready to sell on Craigslist. Pros- easy fast sells, will even sell if they have a defect like a tire that needs replaced. Cons- With bicycles you will sometimes have too many phone calls and have to weed out who will actually show up. Always keep a backup list of people who call even after someone says they are on their way. Also never promise to hold an item, especially a bike. People will not always show up and then you are turning away other potential customers.
Tools
Pros of selling tools on Craigslist are that guys are always looking for deals on tools. Cons- if you don’t know much about the tool then it can be harder to answer the many questions men will ask. Another con of selling tools on Craigslist is that you often have to sell them cheap.
Sports items sell great on Craigslist. Golf clubs and Fishing poles are surefire sells. Pros- they sell quickly and are easy to clean. Cons- harder to get and its not often that you’ll find a good expensive set for free to resell, normally you will get cheap older items that you will sell for between $15 and $25
Furniture
Pros- Furniture is usually a higher priced item giving you better profit. Cons- Furniture takes up more room and is harder to store. A tip with furniture is to be patient and just keep re-listing. It just takes the right person that is looking for your item and that has the money.
Tile and Building Materials
All building materials sell well on Craigslist Items that are especially easy to get and sell are tile and bathroom vanity tops. Pros- easy to find and people always want to buy tile and building materials on Craigslist in order to save money during remodeling. Cons- Tile and building materials can sometimes be hard to clean and list in a way that people are clear on what you are selling. Another con is that these items are often heavy and people will need help loading it up.
