You are a toy and feed the blocks. Looking carefully at the three choices; Lego, Mega-Bloks and Best-Lock, you need a little help in choosing which one to choose. Maybe not. As an avid collector of building sets, I compared various brands and evaluated them for price, compatibility, and diversity. offering, firmness. While there are positives and negatives to each of them, there are some obvious differences.
For those who like it the most, Lego comes to mind. Lego sets are durable and solid throughout. Bricks, compared to other brands, weigh significantly more which increases their durability factor. Lego also come in colors and varieties of colors such as: Four, Double, City, Water Raiders, Kingdom Warriors and others. While many people think that Lego is expensive, their prices have decreased over the past year. One thing to note about Lego is that their bricks tend to be a little taller. This can be a problem if a person tries to build a structure with different characteristics. In addition, Lego has the best site available that lists features, build plans, and sale. My recommendation, and first choice, is Lego for the casual and avid builder.
a close second is Mega Bloks. Mega Bloks are great for movie-themed builders, such as Spider-Man, Pirates of the Caribbean and TMNT sets. Mega Bloks also has a Pro-Building series, which includes spaceships, Star Trek Enterprise, and other more adult-themed sets. Mega Bloks are comparable to Lego in strength, durability, and price; and they are a good choice for builders of all ages. While Mega Bloks does not have an online site, visible stores and retailers can be located that sell the Mega Bloks brand.
Finally, there are Best-Lock building sets. These are the most affordable buildings, but they are not without flaws. While Best-Lock boasts that they are compatible with Lego, the two are not height-matched. In this way, the bricks must remain separate and if one needs more bricks of both brands, new ones must be purchased. On a positive note, Best-Lock makes some of the largest and most diverse sets available. Some of the sixth wanderings from the epic and Wild West stories include pirate ships and Spanish triremes. The sets are easy to assemble, and although not as heavy as Lego, they are quite sturdy. I have, on occasion, had to rebuild some Best-Lock sets because the slight motion will make some of the pieces apart. The bricks don’t interlock like Lego or Mega Bloks which means some restoration is necessary. Also, the page is less than desirable. When many stocks are exposed, there are none for sale, and it is difficult to locate a seller.
In the end, the decision to choose between Lego, Mega Bloks and Best-Lock is personal and is based on the budget, the liking of the person, and the age of the builder. Most young builders will enjoy the Lego Four, while pre-schoolers will enjoy the Lego Double. Also, school children are better able to do the best-lock, especially if they experience this beloved. At the higher end, crafters will enjoy the Mega Bloks Pro-Builder series, as well as the Lego Star Wars a> series. However, to decide which brand is right for you, try all 3 sets. Start small, and after you find a brand that you like, move up to bigger and more complex compositions. This way you can see which brand you like, and if you don’t like it, it won’t cost you much money.
Happy building and remember to have fun!
