Dollhouses are fun to make, and some of the best furniture and sturdy dollhouses are made from items found around the house. If your kids love to build and play with dollhouses, you can provide them with ideas to make furniture and dollhouse accessories using ordinary furniture.
Dollhouse bedding
Great dollhouse bedding can be made from an inverted empty cheese box. Simply turn the top of the box over, and glue the mattress onto the slatted layer. Cover the batting by gluing a piece of fabric together.
Make a frame for the bed with 4 inch craft wood. The paint adheres to the artifice enough to scale the width of the bed directly and otherwise. Glue the wood together with wood glue, and let the glue dry before attaching the head to the bed.
Bedding, curtains and blankets

Works of art
If you need art for walls to decorate your dollhouse, you can use real pictures. Miniature pictures that are too small for anything but vases and pins are perfect for decorating dollhouse walls.
Place a small photo of the art piece in half and trim it with a small hacksaw or emery board. Paint or stain hammers, and glue them to wood with liquid drying glue. After the glue dries, attach the image to the back with small strips of masking-tape, and hang it on the walls of the dollhouse. Miniature pictures with real wood frames are fantastic accessories for any dollhouse.
Minimum boards
Have you seen the little plastic thing placed in a pizza pizzeria to protect the box? If you notice these plastic inserts, you may also notice how much they look like small boards. Save these little plastic boards to use as dollhouse boards. Cover them with cloths tables woven from small scraps or leave them as they are. These boards are very versatile and make great furniture for dolls of all sizes.
