I recently upgraded my phone to a model that allows me to download some nifty ringtones. I have a problem because I’m the type who changes my ringtone every day. If the goat song ringtones are for a snippet that is 10 seconds or less, I could be miserable by the end of the week!
I tried to download my songs, but Sprint does not allow this. It’s like buying songs from a store. But after doing some research on the internet, I found a completely free program that allows my phone to create ringtones for me – all for free beyond the usual access to your charges.
Make sure you don’t break any copyright laws by using this method. Although it’s a little vague, it comes down to this: don’t sell the ringtone for profit, make sure you legally own the song you’re using, and don’t play the ringtone AND the song you have from it. at the same time on two different machines. I would refer to this article for clarity, but this is the nuts and bolts.
Before you do that, you should know that not every phone model or phone plan works. I have an M520 with Sprint and the system works fine. But the possibility of free ringtone software will not work for you. However, if it does, you can spend the whole night creating ringtones!
The first step is to get your phone to download and have internet access. The free phone will receive these ringtones through a secure website, so if you don’t have internet access via your phone, you’re out of luck!
Then, go to the meeting like mobilereelz.com. There are other sites that can help you make ringtones, but mobilereelz.com was the easiest I could find. I got it through the Sprint Users Forum. I suggest you go to the phone company’s forum to find sites that have similar software for free. But mobilereelz.com can work for any company.
The next step is to choose your song. I want to use a separate folder of songs for ringtones. On mobilereelz.com, you just click the first button and you can upload a song from any folder. Make sure it’s an MP3, or else it won’t work properly.
Once your song is uploaded, it will automatically play. This is a must watch if you plan to use a free ringtone at the beginning of your song! If not, you will be missing from the part you want to choose.
After loading and playing your song, use the embedded player to find the part you want for the ringtone. When you find the beginning, put a first left bracket that looks like this: [. When you want to use it at the end of a section, click the end bracket that looks like this : ]. Then you will automatically choose the free ringtone you want.
When you’re done creating your free ringtone, fill in the boxes on the right. Be sure to choose the right format. Most phones use M4A or QCP. Include your cell phone number (area code and not deleted), your mobile carrier, and then hit ” convert and to send “pressing. Voila! You created the sound!
It may take anywhere from minutes to two hours for your ringtone to arrive on your cell phone as a text message. It all depends on the phone company and how fast they send text messages. When it arrives, click on the message and select whatever option allows you to download the file from your phone. For my LG M520 it said “go”. When the file is downloaded, you can either select it in your ringtones folder or on the finger itself. Then select the one from which phone model you have.
Have fun creating your own free ringtones!
