These days it seems everyone likes a bottle of hand sanitizer or anti-bacterial hand wipes. Concern about seeds and diseases seems to increase with the strength of the seeds. I’m not a big user of the stuff, I’m a firm believer that that’s why getting seeds is so powerful, because of the amount of sanitizer and related products that they use more. However, I also carry a bottle of the stuff and find myself using it on occasion. For example, after a creepy guy stares at me for too long, or touching a wet or dirty grocery bag and not the rain or my kids decide to touch something that doesn’t need touching.
The cost of hand sanitizer seems very high to me, especially after finding out what is in those bottles. Most hand sanitizers are mostly alcohol, which is cheap in itself. Therefore, I studied the functions and properties of various materials used, as well as with my recipe. My recipe aloe vera gel, against the drying effect of alcohol. Aloe vera gel I say that I harvest from my plants, but you can use store bought gel. no difference in the final product. If you don’t prefer to use rubbing, you can substitute witch hazel for an equally effective gel.
You can also make a few batas so that your family members have their own scent. For maximum potency, I highly recommend using essential oil, which contains anti-fungal or anti-bacterial properties; such as lavender, tea tree, essential oil or peppermint. You can add your favorite essential oils to make the recipe and final product uniquely yours. I like to use lavender and lemongrass or peppermint, but those are my personal favorites, but don’t be afraid to find your own unique combination.
Clothes:
2/3 cup rubbing alcohol (99% is best)
1/3 cup of aloe vera gel
8 to 10 drops of essential oils of your choice (vanilla, lavender, grapefruit, peppermint, etc.).
Bowls and spoons
Funnel
Bottle(s) to work
Instructions:
1. Choose which essential oils you would like to use. They can be found in most online food and through many online formats, including Amazon and Etsy.
2. Pour aloe vera gelaloe into a bowl, using a glass bowl.
3. Stir well so that the two ingredients are mixed.
4. Add the essential oil(s) drop by drop to move you. This will allow you to make sure the smell is not overwhelming. Just remember not to exceed 10 drops of essential oil per cup of the mixture.
5. Use the funnel to store the finished product in the bottles you want to store the sanitizing gel in. I recommend using pressed pump bottles as reusing empty soap bar containers that used to be used for commercial sanitizers.
6. Label the bottles, wipe off any balls, and you’re ready to go.
This is very easy to do, and even the kids can get involved. Choose a container or essential oil. As you can do for ages, you can mix and match. I think letting the kids have a part in the creation of the gel will give them a sense of pride and make them a little more willing to use it. I know my two children love the idea and use of something they have made.
