Morgan McMichaels starred in season 2 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Although Morgan didn’t win, she won everything around the world. Morgan McMichaels has a very compassionate streak. With the same ferocity shown to the guest, Morgan seeks out those in need. This interview includes questions from fans of Morgan or “Morgasm” and posted by Tommi Rose.
Abby: I saw a video about you helping teenagers who are in crisis. Is it your true calling?
Morgan: I believe so. I believe I was suggested by RuPaul and given the show. You know we didn’t win because there is only one winner. We are all winners, and we owe it to him, to the show, to the show, to the show, to the show, and to the kids. We do not have copies of the volume. It is very difficult for me to do that. I didn’t know what you did. When I went out, I saw people doing drugs. I saw people drinking. I saw people doing this and that. That’s what we thought. I thought gays had a different life. So there was no one to point us in the right direction. So I believe it’s absolutely my duty to talk to every child. I get the phone numbers and will call them.
Abby: I saw your site because if you are in crisis…
Morgan: Call me! Leave a message and I will call you. Some time. It doesn’t matter. My phone number is always on Facebook and always on Twitter. So I call the man at once. We will talk for hours and hours. It’s not just kids, it’s always wise. Men and women. Even if the reason is stupid, call anyway. It is the most important thing to me.
Abby: That’s why I admire you! Do you do other charity work in the community?
Morgan: I just did a benefit with Willa Bell from RPDR season 4 at the Gay and Lesbian Youth Center in West Hollywood. It was amazing! There were 200 homeless gay kids. We put on a feast for them. We judged the dance competition. There is something so silly. Although the obligation was made, I stayed later for hours until closing time. I like to be at the end so everyone can take pictures and talk there. I have heard some amazing stories. It was emotional, but at the same time it was inspiring. They have nothing, but they fight so hard for what they have.
Abby: What was your involvement with NoH8?
Morgan: We were at one of the promos for Campaign NoH8: Chad Michaels, Delta Labor, Raja, and me. Then everyone took a photo. I think it’s important to get everyone involved in the community even just for 10 minutes a day. It will make all the difference. These kids are nothing and nobody. Terrible! Drag Queens, Drag Race or not, everyone needs to go there and support them and talk to them We are the figure heads of our state. We are the ones who talk, of course, a lot. Yes, it’s just me.
Abby: I read that it would be convenient if it was possible to put a home together for homeless kids
Morgan: That would be my dream. The kids can live in a place where they can go to school and get an education there. If I could do that, I would open a spot. A wonderful saying!
Abby: I have some questions, and you sent some of your fans too.
Morgan: I love fan questions. Questions Morgasm! I hate the word fan. I hate that word. It suggests to me that someone is better than me I guess. It is a kind of hierarchy. I call my fans my fans.
Abby: Well I would like to know your Morgasm if you are single?
Morgan: Yes, I am.
Abby: Do you want your kids?
Morgan: I want to have kids of my own. Absolutely. I would be single parent.
Abby: What is your biggest fear?
Morgan: I have a terrible fear of heights. I’m not afraid of getting old. I am not afraid of anything like that. I believe that is exactly how it is done.
Tommi Rose: This is from the queen who takes the stage at Knotts Berry Farm and climbs belt 40 feet in the air in heels like Pink. Do you remember?
Morgan: Yeah. I had it though.
Tommi Rose: I’m taking you skydiving with me.
Morgan: Never! This is the worst nightmare he used to have.
Abby: Is skydiving a bad sport?
Morgan: This is my worst nightmare. If that parachute hadn’t opened, I would have died.
Tommy Rose: You don’t feel like falling.
Morgan: I don’t care! I don’t want to go out the door! You can’t get me on the plane!
Abby: On Don U you said that women over 50 are the fiercest women.
Have you featured a woman over 50 in your show?
Morgan: Yes. I described a woman over 50 on Drag Race. It was a thing 3. I played Granny in the commercials of our country.
Abby: Will you ever play a woman over 50?
Morgan: Yes. Joan Collins I do something pretty. I love Joan Collins. I did Bette Davis in one place. Women I admire and still fabulous. Obviously, menopause is a huge issue for women and makes them feel less than they were when they were 20. Gravity takes over and everything starts to hit the floor. If you can control how fierce you are, what you have is not how the pack is. Like I say in U all the time.
Abby: If you could put any celebrity in your shoes, who would it be?
Morgan: Raven! I’m just kidding. I would love to see Santino Rice in Hant because he is the judge of all the girls and never really in the drama that we have seen. I’d love to see him get prostrated in drag and stand there for hours in a costume he thinks is fabulous. Then let others judge him like Pandora and Shannel.
Abby: Which 3 queens from certain seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race would you consider doing your job?
Morgan: Shannel, Raven and Delta Labor.
Abby: Which 3 queens do you avoid at all?
Morgan: I’m running on Queens 3?
Tommy Rose: Can he pick 3 from each season?
Morgan: Girls, maybe it’s not my makeup, I don’t know. It’s hard. Akasha. I will not make up Akasha. I would not allow Mimi Imfurst to do what I saw that made Pandora’s face and she was horrified!
Morgan: Part three. I do not know. Tammie Brown!
Abby: Is it acceptable to win a good professor in U drag/i>?
Morgan: No. Just because our girl won. It’s not that we win the professors, it’s the girl who wins. It has nothing to do with us. The girls are there to help. It’s the girl who wins. Everyone really wins. The entire system is an inspiring show. It is such a polar opposite of Drag Race where it is contested. It’s hot and hard and humid. With Drag U I think it’s the polar opposite. Every professor helps every student. RuPaul is there and takes care of everything. What they don’t show you on camera is that he’s there talking to women at lunchtime. He sits down and has lunch with us. He likes to tell some jokes. He will walk when you do something very serious and stand behind the cameraman and make faces. Tears of laughter just picture you doing the craziest things. Ru is a most wonderful person.
Abby: If it was “Lady Reading” what would it be?
Morgan: My “Lesson Lady” would teach them how to take a picture and look smaller. How to turn your body so that it appears less often. How thin your face looks like you have a longer face. Hidden ways of telling.
Abby: What body part do you want to change?
Morgan: I think about my lips. I. Needs bigger lips.
Abby: OK Raven!
Morgan: I don’t want to go crazy but I would like a little plumping.
Abby: When Raven was describing what I felt like I was thrown away. It sounds horrible!
Morgan: I love it!
Tommy Rose: What did he say?
Morgan: Tears. There is no room inside the lip. It’s not a lake.
Tomm Rose: Is your lip split?
Morgan: The skin is torn. It’s a target.
Tommy Rose: I could never do that.
Abby: Who is your most famous crush?
Morgan: Of course I don’t want to have a celebrity crush. “Mayhem.” Mayhem Miller crushes my celebrity. I’ll do it like David Beckham. I think he is very charming. Ricky Martin is hot. Oh yeah, it gets me together.
Abby: How did you go from being a child to doing drag?
Morgan: It was a natural start. Crow, Mayhem, and everyone danced.
Abby: All together?
Morgan: All together. Raven, Mayhem and I started dancing in the VIP. Then one night I got pulled over just to the people’s dismay and changed it up and completely different.
Abby: So when you thought the boy was going to go, did you show up in the hall?
Morgan: No. I pointed to the ground pulling the pin. Then Raven would do the match at VIP, our home court. Mayhem also happened to show up on the night. He soon took off from there. We’ve been pulling ever since.
Abby: You once said drag queens are the best of the sexes. How do queens attract the highest sex?
Morgan: I think drag queens are the pinnacle of the sex, because they really take movement, clothing, makeup and hair to a completely different level than a regular woman. We do everything to the hundredth degree. We collect the best of each woman and put it in one body. Pick and choose what we want.
Abby: And the other authority. “I believe in tough love, because tough love wins.” Who has used the stubborn love in you, and what did you deserve?
Morgan: My parents. especially the mother. I don’t accept excuses. I expect success. It is not a failure. If you have intelligence and will act, then you will succeed. Nothing but you can stop you. So I believe in slow love. If you pass the exam, interview a job, you will give your hardest and get where you need to be. anger. I have always achieved what I wanted to do in life. I didn’t get Drag Race but I got it. Do you know what I’m talking about? I spent all weekend at my school.
Abby: Was he in Scotland?
Morgan: Yes. I got to live my dream because I wanted to do it. So anyone can do it. It’s a tough situation, but I’d rather hear the truth than a lie. Delta Opus has a great quote, “I’d rather hear a hard truth than a soft lie.” It may sting in the beginning, but at least you know where you stand with people. Surely you know where they are with you and where you are with them. I have a lot to say, but no one has ever called me a liar.
Abby: When it comes to guests I know I’m spoiled. I have been following you here at Toucan’s Tiki Lounge for almost 5 years. Not many queens do tricks and flips like you do. One of your Morgasms asked, “Did you do gymnastics as a kid?”
Morgan: No. I drew a lot of ground. I was so excited to jump out of bed because that was all I had to do. Again, tough love. When you are in trouble, the TV will be thrown out of your room and all fun things will be taken away. All I did was study. Tough love!
Abby: What lessons did Chad Michael, your mother, teach you?
Morgan: How to be a more professional host. 110% If you’re going to do it, do it.
Abby: In the video You were S& M‘s Rhianna.
Morgan: Yes.
Abby: Have you heard of a condescending role?
Morgan: Yes. Mayhem and I did both. We are faithful. So I was there with Will from season 4 and Detox from season 5.
Abby: I know you were the one with the blue shirt and then you were down on the grass with Rhianna. I recognized Will in a lace dress with a yellow hat. What is Detox Loss?
Morgan: Big hair. I just posted a picture on my Twitter of all of us. Rhianna was truly amazing. He got to know me about the show.
Abby: Won’t it blow you away?
Morgan: I did this kind of thing. He walked on set and said hi to Detox that Detox had been in the Disorder video. He looked at me and pointed and said “You’re that dog from the show on TV. Oh yes, Drag Race. OK. Fantastic.” We all got on really well. It should be funny.
Abby: Another question is about Robin in Landisville, PA. He asks, “Are you surprised at the amount of people on the cruise who were not typical of the show?”
Morgan: I work in Palm Springs and LA. In LA the crowd is smaller. Then in Palm Springs, there is a tourist crowd. The older people. She is straight and cheerful and has everything in common. There is no such thing as a typical audience member. I think it’s all about background and geography. If you’re in hip West Hollywood, sheik, the younger drinkers who go out on Monday nights at 11 p.m. You don’t get the older crowd before 11 o’clock. In Palm Springs you’re getting an older crowd that will drink up and down the street. They all went back. What must be done now? Now is the time to drink and relax and wait for God to come and come to you. I don’t believe in a typical audience.
Abby: Next question is from Debra in the New Orleans area.
Morgan: I haven’t been there yet. I’m dying to go.
Abby: Have you thought about incorporating your Scottish heritage into your dress and look?
Morgan: I make two numbers of Scots. I’m making a meal out of Brav. The new Disney Princess of Scotland. I’m totally working on the Braveheart issue. I don’t know if you want to do this as a woman or as William Wallace. I haven’t figured it out yet.
Abby: Are you doing Boy George?
Morgan: Boy George. I do Annie Lennox and Pete Burns. This is a big 80’s fan. It’s funny that Annie Lennox met and blogged about me because I’m the best looking person she’s ever seen. The mind rocks. I am friends with Boy George on Twitter. He follows me. How does Boy George follow me? Crazy me. Because Boy George is everything. Samantha Fox follows me. I came! Horus, the goddess of life I’m Twitter friends with a couple of celebrities and they gag me. It’s like he grew up with you. I watch you on television and you know who I am. That alone blows my mind.
Abby: One Morgasm asked, “Madonna or Gaga?”
Morgan: O Madonna! Are you there? Have you lost your mind? I have nothing against Gaga. I grew up with Madonna. Madonna is my queen.
Abby: Where can we live you?
Morgan: Monday night at “Monster Showgirl” at Mickey’s in West Hollywood. Wednesday nights at Urban Mo in San Diego with “Rediscovering Dreamgirls.” I’m at Raven’s show “Snatch” in Riverside or at Mary’s Hamburger in West Hollywood on Thursday. Friday nights I’m either at VIP Nightclub in Riverside with Mayhem Miller or at the Delta Labor show called the “Sreamgirls Show” at Mary’s Hamburger in Long Beach. Saturday night my show “Scandal” at VIP in Riverside. I’m playing with “Tommy Rose and the Playgirls” on Sundays.
Abby: Where can we find you online or on Twitter?
Morgan: Twitter is not MorganMcMichael St. I couldn’t St. Also my Facebook is Morgan McMichaels and I have a fan page or Morgasm page. My websites are Morgasmlove.com and MorganMcMichaels.com
Abby: Is there anything you want to add?
Morgan: We just think that any girl, boy, transgender or questioning person in crisis should contact me or one of the Drag Race people they love. Send me a message and if you don’t get back to me contact me. I respond to all orders. I reply to every Facebook message I receive. I must I am out of luck.
Abby: Thank you Morgan for not only doing this interview, but also helping those in need. I appreciate you and your efforts.
