Always fighting the good fight against delicious seeds and drops I tried two big name brand products. One, Mr Clean and the other Febreze. Both were descriptive and had many odd ingredients, and came with many warnings to use. I felt that I needed to use these gloves, mask and gown. Febreze has been shown to be safer and there is really no way to test if the seeds and microbes from these products actually get rid of them.
I have two dogs. One of them has housebreaking issues. He is seven years old and I resigned myself. t itu to change his evil ways. Bad name rescueno way I knew how to rescue dogs, whatever dogs I had. what we adopted when we entered. He’s scared of the bulls and just isn’t completely tamed, he lived in his car for the first year, maybe that’s a user problem. Maybe that’s where it comes from.
Either way—I am a constant battler with odors in my home. It is all war. I use every imaginable shower, plug in and duster, stain remover, carpet cleaner, etc etc.
Last on my “let’s try this” list is Febreze Antimicrobial. It contains didecyl dimethyl ammonium chloride (0.13%) and who knows what as “other drugs”. honestly this is off the label, most of the ingredients are “other 99.87%”. Pretty amazing huh? When I tried just about everything. I wanted to try this. It claims to kill 99.9% of the bacteria that causes odors. It is 27.04 fluid ounces. All well and good.
I brought the blue bottle home and sprayed all the couches and carpets that Max had noticed in my bathroom. It throws up a real problem. The cap under the trigger has ridges and after a minute it sprays I had to change hands. It hurts! Between the thumb and the finger, the ligaments dig up the ridges. I took a break, sprinkled a little more and gave up for now. The scent was clean, not overpowering, and you really need to overpower the scent. I cleaned all these areas several times, but on a wet day I noticed a slight odor. It drives me nuts. So I try different products.
World Antibacterial Multi Surface Orange Scent is a rival to Febreze Microbacterial. This product claims to kill germs kill, cut the grease and leave the surface streak free, an interesting concept.
Active ingredients: Dimethyl Benzyl Aconite Chloride and Dimethyl Ethylbenzyl Aconite Chloride and again “other drugs 99.90%”!!! So you have two ingredients that are chemicals that are a total of 0.05%, and the rest is a mystery.
This bottle is 32 fl oz and I got it on sale for $1.32. Mr.Clean, unfortunately, warns against using it around pets (and people!), something I didn’t notice until I got home to combat my pets’ terrible bathroom habits. It is not safe on washable surfaces, nor is it good for air or copper paint or wall coverings. So what does this leave? It is effective against E.Coli and staph resistant Staphylococcus Aureus, Influenza A 2, Hong Kong flu and Athlete’s foot. Very strange, what do you think you have to apply this with those things? Apply directly to your body? Avoid contact with clothing despite warnings.
Ah, another warning not to breathe. So do you have to use a mask and gloves? Remove pets and they won’t work on most surfaces. do not get it on your skin or clothes. That stuff sounds lethal if it weren’t for cheap and gas being so expensive.
The picture on the label shows kitchens, bathrooms and glass surfaces as places to use Master Clean. Evacuating! I can’t imagine how to use this product when there are so many warnings.
