My Art Collection of Nail Designs for Teenage Girls

It all began a few months ago when I was wandering through the cosmetic department in K-Mart. Within minutes, I came across something that caught my eye in the nail aisle. There was a wide selection of various nail art pens, the same type that my sisters-in-law had introduced to me just a few weeks prior.

My discovery of nail art pens has enabled me to take on an artistic approach to one of my favorite hobbies. Here are a few of my most recent creations.

Rock Star Design

This is the toenail design I’ve got on display right now. Because it’s my first polka dot creation, the design has a special place in my heart. I like to call it the “rock star design” because it’s made up of imaginary gems and it’s got this punk/rock star kind of look and feel to it.

It doesn’t take a whole lot of talent or skill to master this design. In fact, all that’s needed is a base coat, a black nail polish, a nail art pen in white, and a clear nail polish. You’d be surprised by how many different looks you can achieve with just a few basic beauty tools.

Start out by applying the clear base coat over your nails. Although it may seem like a trivial matter at first glance, applying a quality base coat to your nails is crucial. Deciding whether or not to use one will determine how well your final creation turns out. In doing so, you can be rest assured knowing that your nail polish won’t peel off the moment you go to wash your hands.

Allow the base coat to dry for at least ten minutes and then apply the black nail polish over top. Then allow to dry for an hour before continuing on with the next step.

Now here comes the fun part. Grab your nail art pen and dot it carefully along your nails. On each of mine, I found that three rows of three dots were a perfect match for me. On my big toes, I added an additional three to each row and made a total of five rows. When doing this, make sure the dots line up both vertically and horizontally for a nice, neat, and organized appearance. Once dry, add on the clear coat of nail polish. It’s time to rock out!

Baby Feet
Design

The baby feet design is my most powerful masterpiece. The mere image can affect a person’s decision, change a mother’s heart, and save another person’s life.

This particular nail design will require a base coat, a pink nail polish, a white nail art pen, and a clear nail polish. Once you’ve got the base down, apply the pink nail color. Then make the impression of baby toes by dotting along the edges of the nails with the nail art pen. Don’t forget to draw the feet underneath the toes.

Finish off with a clear nail polish and you’re done.

Diamond Design

Get your nails ready for another one of Annie’s fabulous makeovers. This one’s called the diamond design. For this creation, you’ll be using the same tools that were used earlier in creating the chick rock star look.

Following the usual pattern for drying, start by brushing on a base coat and then applying black nail polish to each one of the nails. Next, take your white nail art pen and carefully, draw the shape of a diamond on each. Add a few imaginary sparkles by dotting the inside of the diamonds. Finish it off with a clear nail polish that will literally have your nails shining.

A good nail designer shows little concern for the changing fashions and trends. Because I consider my hobby to be a form of self-expression, I find much more fulfillment in creating a picture of my own than copying from someone else.
